Passed by an old run down house the other day and noticed one of those state landmark signs out front. It was Buddy Guy's childhood home.

Big Buddy fan, back in the early 90's I got to do the blues show on KLSU. His brother Sam listened and would call in every now and then. He invited me to come meet Buddy at their family reunion. Got to go meet him and interview him, great guy, it was really cool because Raful Neal was there as well and they would talk about the old days playing together. Later that evening Buddy showed up with his brother Phil at the Raful's Starlight Diamond Lounge and played some.

Dude’s still playing and jamming these days. He’s awesome.

I saw Buddy Guy play in Baton Rouge when he released "Damn Right, I Got the Blues". Unfortunately, Buddy probably had too much to drink and was kind of full of himself. That translated to him playing a song, getting the crowd really into what he was playing, and then stopping and switching to a different song right when everyone was diggin' it. The crowd got restless and eventually started leaving. It was that bad. The music was great, but he wouldn't finish a song.
Buddy gave me the blues that night.

One time I saw Wolfman Washington play at Rock 'N Bowl. He was WAY more fricked than usual. He kept on breaking his guitar strings and had to put on reading glasses to replace them.
It might have been the most entertaining Wolfman show of my life!

I have seen him perform a couple of times and I have never seen him finish a song! Lol. He is an amazing musician, though. And a great showman, actually

Wasn’t he a custodian at LSU?

His album with Junior Wells “Drinkin’ TNT n Smokin’ Dynamite” is one of the great all time blues albums
