aside from if oregon wins the championship and aside from how that program will do in the future do y'all think we should have hired dan lannijg instead of bk if we could?

He’s one of the best coaches in the country and was a highly respected coordinator, pretty obvious we should have.

Nice to see this thread again for the 45th time

Wonder how’d he’d be with our roster as opposed to a billionaires lol

His clock management before the half could have come back to bite him in the arse. His mismanagement was Les Miles level and he got lucky it was only a James Franklin on the other sideline or that could have ended badly with the other team's momentum in the 2nd half.

Revisionist history. Bama could say the same thing and they already had him there as an assistant.
Why don’t you all just stop for once and ask “What was Oregon’s situation when he was hired?” “What advantages does he have there?” “Why wasn’t he hired at Bama?” I mean there are all sorts of revisionist history scenarios one can dream up but why? If you want to use your time more efficiently ask yourself “what can I do to help LSU Athletics?

Well obviously, given that our new ceiling is 8 wins.

The blaming of fans for football being bad needs to stop.

He’s a good coach but also at a school that will dominate NIL. I don’t think he would be a good fit at LSU.
I do believe Oregon will be in the playoffs and competing for Natty’s in this era.

No use, they are who they are. The only time they are truly happy is when they are bitching. Will never change. Do something positive or constructive is not in their DNA.

Impossible to tell how much of Oregon's recent success is due to his coaching and "recruiting" vs. Oregon paying more for players than any other program (except maybe Ohio State). I suspect Lanning at LSU would have a similar record to BK.

Great coach but at the same
time… Nike Money is pretty big in his success.
My honest answer is yes, because I like young coaches and now we can see He is also a
good HC, but I also don’t think we’d be #1 just because we hired Dan Lanning

I don’t know the answer to this. He had a slightly better blue chip ratio for his roster coming into this year. Edited to include transfers
Georgia 79%
Texas 77%
Alabama 76%
Texas A&M 76%
Florida 71%
Oregon 70%
Ohio State 69%
LSU 65%

Go with the younger version in Kenny Dillingham

Dan Lanning‘s success has more to do with Phil Knight’s money than it does his own coaching ability

The real hero of that organization is Phil Knight.

He was co-DC, under Kirby Smart. So most people probably wouldn’t have referred to him as a highly respected coordinator in the same way as, say, Brent Venables.
