But, I have been assured that any conflict overseas has knock-on effects that will produce another 9/11 or Hitler and that I should be happy for my 1LT Army son to go there and fight.

Not our fight and there’s not a side worth backing anyway.

Turkey is a NATO ally. This is their backyard. Let them handle it.

I agree. Unfortunately if things go haywire and Israel is threatened he will change his tune.

It's a royal CF.
Let's see...Syria, rebels, loyalist, Russia, Iraq, Iran, Kurds, ISIS, the US and God knows who else.

Hard pass.

Everyone involved in Syria is bad.

I will say that the best outcome for the US would have been Asad staying in power. If there is one lessons from the Arab Spring it’s that ME nations ruled by strongmen are more stable than failed states that become a cesspool for terrorists and human suffering.

We have fricked around over there so much and a significant part of instability in the region is our fault.

This is correct. We built ISIS last time and lost control. These things never go as planned because terrorist are hard to control

600k casualties is what’s catching my eye. There has to be over a million lost overall which is insane if true and it’s not being reported.

Right here.

I don’t give a frick about (D)emocracy.

Just have dictators in power who can keep shite on a relatively even keel, not hordes of radical Muslims.

Turkey would be happy as sh*t to kick the crap out of Syria. They don’t like all those Arab rebels on their border kicking up dust

He is entirely correct.

Our governments job is to work with foreign countries, not meddle in their internal affairs.

The Arabs aren’t why Turkey cares. They want Arabs to control Syria.

Turkey’s concern is the Kurds

Why? True Trump supporters don't want more intervention into these wars. People who voted for Trump just b/c he isn't a liberal may be different, but they were against Trump until he became the nominee.
