BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police say a body found floating in Capitol Lake near the Louisiana State Capitol Tuesday afternoon is “unidentifiable.”

Sgt. Darren Ahmed says authorities were able to determine that the body is that of a male.

A groundskeeper spotted the body Tuesday afternoon near the Claiborne Building, Ahmed said.

Officers with DPS and firefighters from the Baton Rouge Fire Department also responded to the scene.

I am pretty sure the capitol lake is not connected to any other body of water so you would have to assume somebody was able to dump a body in downtown with a court house, the Governor's mansion, the state's highest law enforcement agency, and the state capital overlooking.

There are signs that warn you to not eat the fish. They were originally in Vietnamese

My bet is they came down sorrel, went into the woods somewhere between Neosho and Joplin and dumped it in the inlet and eventually it floated down.

They could have gone through the job site where they took some of the woods down south of Joplin but there might be cameras either on the site or on that warehouse. So that would be dumb.

I get surprised with as many crime shows and documentaries there that people still dump the body in a lake and expect it to not get found.

If you don’t open the stomach, the gases in the body are gonna cause it to rise.

That’s how Scott Peterson got caught. He would have been clear as it gets except for the fact that eventhough Lacy Peterson was weighted down, she still floated up

I was at the gym when this broke on WBRZ and they had someone doing a live shot from the lake, the closed caption was on and instead of the closed caption being from the live report, it was from the Pluckers story.

Before I realized what was going on I thought the story was that someone had killed themself there because Pluckers had closed.

That area is LOADED with cameras. If it didn't come from the woods to the north, there will be some sort of video evidence of what happened.
