And will likely never happen again. LSU’s other national championships came from an era/brand of football that we are far removed from.

The issues leading to LSU’s return to mediocracy is beyond coaching and players. There’s going to have to be a large scale overhaul or restructuring of how recruiting and roster management is conducted if LSU is to ever be competitive again. It is what it is.

It won’t be until we get lucky and hire the right young and hungry head coach.

We are doomed currently.

Duh about the peak.

We will win another NC. LSU may miss on a few 5 stars but LA has enough talent to build around players that want to be here.

People here consistently say that LSU cannot be elite in the NIL/portal era because it does not have enough money. However, I've never actually seen any data whatsoever to corroborate this view, which seems to be based on surmise and pessimism. It feels like a projection of Louisiana's inferiority complex, rather than objective, verifiable truth.

How do we know this isn't a coaching, leadership, or operational issue, rather than an immutable financial deficiency? Where is the data that dispositively proves we are devoting less money to players in the aggregate than other programs?

It doesn’t matter who the coach is if the admin and boosters don’t feel like competing for top talent.

I am admittedly in a negative headspace about the current state of the program, but other than the fact that the 3 coaches before BK did it, what makes you think this?

I really don’t see us contending for a national championship in the next 3 years. We do not have a national championship foundation at the moment and are losing the pieces that could possibly be part of one.

The undeniably best season in LSU's history and arguably the best season in college football history was the peak? There is no way this can possibly be true...

Because Miles and Orgeron couldn't do it anywhere else, that's why. That's all you need to know.

LSU 2019 was arguably the greatest season for any college football team.

Coach O sold LSU's soul to the devil for 2019. We are now seeing it.

2019 was the end of an era, for college sports and for the world as a whole. It was also the year before I turned 40.

2020 can straight kiss my arse.

Seriously, if Coach O had been given a leave of absence, he might have gotten his head on straight.

Nah, we can’t do NIL. You can hire anybody, we can’t compete with money

I agree.

At least we got to experience 1 season of undefeated dominance.
It is still the greatest NCAA football team of all time.

I don’t think a national title will ever happen again unless our NIL boosters get their shite together.

considering this is largely considered the best college football sesaon in the history of the game, yeah, i'd tend to agree... NO college program is likely to achieve that same sort of success, not just LSU...
