Why do we still use the term boomer? It’s gen x that most millennials hate

Most millennials parents are gen xers not boomers. Boomers were people born in the baby boom of post world war2. These are the people that fought in Vietnam. Their kids were the gen xers and there kids were millennials. But for some reason the internet acts like boomers were the parents of millennials which is not the case. My 84 year old grandmother is a boomer. She’s in a nursing home and pisses in a bag. She’s one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever known. My father is a gen xer born in 1969 and that’s who most of the “boomer” mentality seems to be aimed at.
Actual boomers are dead or dying. Stop besmirching their good name because other than the hippies they were good people too.

My 84 year old grandmother is a boomer.
Boomer generation is 1946 to 1964, she was born before that. (Silent generation)
I am a millennial, my parents are boomers. I have Gen z & gen alpha kids
Boomer means born in the baby boom after WW2.

I’m 34, my parents are in their 60s. They are late boomers.

It's just lazy and throwing any older person into that nickname.

Zoomer's parents are mostly Gen X - Gen X has never been fond of Millennials, so of course their children dislike Millennials.
For OP - typically the parents of a generation are 2 generations back these days (because the average age for a first time parent is 27.3 years old, enough for an entire generation to happen in between when the mother is born and their children are then born)
Therefore, Millennials are mostly children of Boomers, Zoomers are mostly children of Gen X.
Your Grandmom is a part of the Silent Generation

Generation Birth Year Ranges:
The Greatest Generation: Born 1901–1927
The Silent Generation: Born 1928–1945
Baby Boomers: Born 1946–1964
Generation X: Born 1965–1980
Millennials: Born 1981–1996
Generation Z: Born 1997–2012
Generation Alpha: Born 2013–2025
I'm a Xennial (born in that end of X, beginning of Millennial range). My parents are solidly Boomers.

Because it’s used as an insult? Typically they don’t mean literally a boomer, they are just calling you old.

Because most GenX’er parents support them more than we should so you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
ETA: never mind…my kids are Zoomers.
Millennials are just worthless as frick.

The median boomer is 69.
The median Gen Xer is 52.
The median Millennial is 36.
Who is more likely to be the parent of the new born millennial? The 18 year old or 33 year old?
Edit: sorry, SIXTEEN year old or 33 year old?
