Honestly I think this is much better money spent than on a high school kid. And that’s not sour grapes re: Phillips.

It’s just good common sense. Paying high school kids is a giant unknown and very publicized which may not be good for your current team. Pay less for talented underclassmen who are more proven at the P5 level and it’s at least a higher-floor player situation. I trust Corey knows this kid well

I feel like I've seen this story before with a player whose last names rhymes with Dilbert.

In all fairness he was their best DB early in the season and the preseason before he got hurt. And our WRs could not get good separation from those UF DBs beside Mason Taylor. Kade Phillip’s ceiling is way higher tho, but it may be good if we can actually hold onto Pickett and have an experienced CB opposite to him

So as a conspiracy theorist, my question is would Raymond have told this kid to enter portal so he could come to us after we were informed of the Phillips flip? Raymond was his primary recruiter.

I guess this is a nice consolation prize if it happens, but it sure feels like spending 3x as much for an older Phillips...

Didn’t at least one of the CB’s we took in the portal from Ohio State have an season ending injury that he still hasn’t recovered from?

I don't want any transfer coming off a season ending injury unless they are coming here for free. Those type kids never recover and aren't worth any kind of compensation you give them.

Zy had a lot more college experience before his injury though, even if it was Southeastern.
