Snowbelt snow in Ohio, PA, NY

I’m in northern Ohio and have no snow. Less than 2 hours away they have almost 5 ft in Ashtabula county, Ohio. It’s crazy how much snow Lake Erie can produce.
We all saw what Buffalo dealt with for their game.
Kinda wish I lived that direction so I could get back into snowmobiling again

Drove once up to Erie to go steelhead fishing. Forecast was 1 foot $of snow. OK I'm adventurous and still go. They got pummeled that night with several feet if snow. It was a fun trip but a lot of work hiking down to the stream

People don't think lake effect snow be like it is, but it do. I live in Granger, Indiana. I'll get 1 foot of snow and my buddy 5 miles away will get an inch or nothing. One minute it'll be falling at a rate of a foot an hour, 5 minutes later it'll stop, while the subdivision next street over is getting hammered.

I spent two winters on a project in a village just south of Watertown, NY right off Lake Ontario and snowmobiling was huge. We’d get 3-5 feet overnight randomly. What was even freakier were the squalls where it’s a blizzard, lightning storm and the sun was out too

Yeah. My ex and my 13 yo live in Medina in NE OH and he’s pissed they get zero snow and a stones throw away gets dumped on.

Lake effect snow shouldn't surprise anyone.

It doesn't. Though, they need to stop trucks from traveling interstates when it happens. It never fails that one of them chances it and ends up jackknifed with hundreds of vehicles stranded behind it.

Snows really cool for a couple days then it becomes a pain in the arse real quick when it’s an every day thing

I know the area. Tug Hill, Barnes Corners, Rodman. If someone really loves snow, well, they might not after a Tug Hill winter.

Yeah, I lived just off tug hill in Turin. We’d pay the town drunk to plow off the laydown yard every morning. That’s where I learned to drive in the snow, what a crash course haha
