Generally, these are mutually exclusive concepts.

The new laws read like the commission will be 5.0%
2.5% from the seller and 2.5% from the buyer.

I sold a house through him last summer. 34 days between listing and closing.

That's a great oxymoron....... best agent with lowest commission. You generally will get what you pay for. In my opinion, you hire a professional (doctor, architect, realtor, attorney, etc.), for their 'experience'. You likely won't be getting great experience when you focus solely on price.

I'll do 1.7, same qualifications as poster above.

Do it yourself and learn some stuff. There's plenty of folks here that can help you.

FSBOBR dot com has some very good information to help you start. And I have no connection to that site, but sold my last two houses via their services.

Good luck!

Unfortunately this source is on life support. You hardly ever see FSBOBR signs anymore, and the number of listings and web traffic is a fraction of what it was 10 years ago Not saying FSBO is a bad idea, just that a once thriving resource is nearly dead.

That's sad.

It was great resource. Seemed like a family biz.

I'm sure they get plenty of pressure from the real estate "professionals".

On a side note, I was perusing the largest Political Action Committees, and the largest donor to the 2024 and 2020 election cycle? National Association of Realtors

Yep, them baws carry a big hammer.
