Deep fryer REC for turkey

OK I did search but I'm looking to buy a deep fryer primarily to deep fry a turkey. In reading a good number of reviews one of the main issues for me was a hole being burned in the bottom of the pot which is not something I want to experience.
Wanting about a 30 quart propane type with all the tools, basket, hooks, pot, thermometer, etc.
TIA

I have a Cajun Classic deep fryer. As long as you have oil that doesn’t break down with heat (peanut oil) in the pot you will be ok. Let the oil break down from overheating is where you run into problems. Also, make damn sure your bird is completely dry. Otherwise you will have a very violent eruption. I have an infrared thermometer and keep my oil around 350 degrees.

Thanks.....I watched a friend do one last year so I have most of the basics and yes drying the bird was one of them.

This will probably be blasphemy here and not trying to steer you in any particular direction, because I have all things frying/boil related. I personally love my Charbroil Big Easy (infrared fryer) because it so much more versatile in cooking other things besides turkey, but it excels at the turkey same as oil. Don't have an issue with leaving it and walking away and no clean up mess. Only drawback is 10-12min/lb cooking time vs ~3min/lb cooking time in oil, but I can't personally tell a taste difference doing birds in it vs oil. I did 2 birds for Thanksgiving in mine yesterday with just a injected cajun creole butter marinade and dressed in cajun seasoning and they were on the money. I like easy/safer as I get older. You'll be happy with whatever you choose

I'll second this. I also have everything I need to go the other direction but prefer the Big Easy.

I know its expensive but I have come to really like the high-performance brand cookers. They work extremely well, have a drain valve and they do not have the safety BS on it that has always ended up failing me mid-cook. Yes, I could bypass it but I opted to just buy the 40qt for frying turkeys (they can lay flat) and you can use it for other cooking needs (I just did a big batch of mirlitons). They have 10% off right now and they have the 30qt pot size as well.

I did 2 birds side by side yesterday, 1 in oil and 1 in the Big Easy.
I sliced them up and served and no one knew which was which.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Big Easy.I fried turkeys in oil 5 or 6 years, haven’t done it since I got the Big Easy.Tastes just as good and don’t have the expense and hassle of dealing with oil.
Inject it with your preferred seasoning,I rub it down with olive oil and sprinkle Cajun seasoning on the skin.
I did a deer roast in it and it was very good.

I've been using mine for years. Turkey came out perfect yesterday. Also does a great Prime Rib.
Haven't broke out my turkey pot since I got the Big Easy.

Not a brand recommendation, but look for one with a spigot on the pot. I thought it would be potential leak source but its a game changer for cleanup.

A big easy fried turkey isnt the same as a oil fried turkey. You are lying to people and yourself when you say that.
I'm not saying I don't like the big easy but it isn't the same. Kinda close but not the same.

We borrowed a big easy to try out a few years ago and we decided to stay with deep fried. Granted we only used it once and maybe there is a learning curve. Air fried wasn’t bad and there’s definitely some pro’s to it, but definitely wasn’t the same.

I bought a bundle at academy years ago, everything you mentioned. I’ve fried no less than 20 turkeys in it. Super easy and comes out perfect each time. 3-3.5 minutes per pound and no bigger than 14 lbs.
