The reality is that they just want to maintain the CURRENT climate. Anything that changes beyond that is bad. They want to maintain the current coastlines, current CO2 levels, current temperature and weather patterns.
While the coastlines have changed by 1000 miles over the years, they claim even small changes now are devastating because humans have chosen to build cities on the coasts. (Ancient cities were built there as well, many now gone)
The whole thing is about keeping the status quo. If they would just say that, at least they would be honest.
