Ummmm, yeah, ten Big Macs are more than $58. Hell, the gruel they fed Oliver Twist and his fellow orphans was more than $58 (adjusted for inflation).

Just pure Lucille Bluth to these hack journalists:

It’s been discussed and yes it’s bullshite.
Except in the mind of one OT nimrod who lost his mind fighting about the ability to do a Thanksgiving meal for this amount. He’s not right in the head though.

$5.80 per person? Could you pass the lunch meat Turkey and one can of yams?

I mean it’s big news for me since I spent $72 on Thanksgiving just yesterday for the turkey, the pellets, cranberries, and sugar that we’re bringing and I think it’s around 10 of us as well.

58 dollars for 10 people? It would not be much of a dinner unless everybody wanted to eat hotdogs.

I'm sure its based on the assumption that "most" Thanksgiving meals outside of the south are very basic. My freshman year of college I went to a friends house in NY rather than come back to LA and was horrified when I realized that Thanksgiving meal was a baked turkey, box of of Stove Top stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, steamed fresh green beans, and desert.

I am extremely thankful for the family that hosted me; however, I don't I have ever been more homesick than that Thanksgiving. The next three years I was on the first flight back!

We went shopping for our group of 20 people and spent $575 on ingredients for everything including soft drinks. We will definitely have leftovers but $58 is a joke

I seriously doubt that’s the average Thanksgiving home in NY. You will find some white trash like that in the South too.
