I’ll probably get dragged for this but, are we sure this kid is worth the cash he’s commanding? I mean, we’ve seen a fair amount of top flight DL guys that don’t nearly live up to their hype. To pay this kid a couple mil with 10 games played in his life TOTAL, strictly off of measurables seems damn near reckless.

Not sure at all. Barely played any HS but did great at camps.
Biggest crap shoot shoot but like Bryce, LSU can’t afford the optics of losing but even if he doesn’t pan out.
It’s not a great situation unless he turns into a monster on the DL

It's a different world now. In years past this would be a huge loss. With the free agency free for all it no longer is.
The $ to get him would allow you to get a more experienced comparable player that can help you right away.
Stewart is not going to make a huge impact as freshman.

Not true everyone in “the know” says Frank was able to get him cleared to reclassify and he was LSU because of it.

First, I completely agree with this. But, with Michigan shitting all over the established market, and rev sharing coming (and hopefully some type of cap), does anyone else get the feeling the asking prices in the fall portal are going to be mind boggling? If so, what a bad look it would be if Kelly thought he had a lot more spending power in the portal than he actually will after today’s statements.
