Good luck fellas
Wife just walked out the door to hunt a 5yr old clear cut.
I’m taking youngest squirrel hunt some public by camp.
Oldest has 2 bucks down already so he’s chilling out till he decides to take a few does out later in week.

Overlooking a broad valley pasture with a good plot. 30 deg and calm.
Nothing yet but a little surprised. Have seen does and a couple bucks loafing in this area for
Two weeks.
Wife is with me. We both have .308’s.

Port Gibson MS.
Have not seen a deer. Have not heard a single shot as of 7:05 am.
I'm not sure I've ever sat for an hour on a pretty opening morning without hearing a single rifle shot

Nada here so far. Only heard 3 rifle shots this morning. 2 by bro in law in the stand 700 yards south of me. He reports 2 clean misses. Guess he about to lose his shirt tail.

Morning folks
Leake County in the Landmass
Opening day of gun season
33* no wind. Little ground fog
Best spot on our place got the feeder cleaned out by coons last week, so I’m down the road hoping to catch one crossing.
.270 Remington, had to borrow from Cuz since my dumbass grabbed the case without checking it, and left BR without my rifle. First time I’ve pulled that.
Doe and her yearling crossed early, passed bc I have a much bigger doe patterned back in the back. Haven’t heard any shots around me other than duck hunters down on the river.
Good luck and be safe boys.

Wife has seen 9 antlerless deer so far with 1 shot heard close.
We not shooting does until mid week due to not wanting to keep it on ice all week at camp.

Rapides Parish
38F but feels colder
Tripod in pine thicket
270 bolt
No shots so far, which is weird for the rut action. Maybe a mid day hunt will work
