It's official. Trump's sentencing in New York is canceled indefinitely.

Why not just dismiss it?

You know why.

It’s a cowardly move by Merchant. Hopefully Trump can get a higher court to dismiss the case entirely.

All this does is leave this hanging over his head his entire presidency.
His attorneys need to take an intermediate appeal to get it dismissed.

Looks like he can file a motion to dismiss the case.

So they can imprison him when another Democrat eventually takes office. It could be 4 to 8 years from now, but they'll say, "We finally got him!"

It gives the media the chance to call him "the only convicted criminal President in history' for four years.

Hope they are ready for the defamation suits, because that would be 100% false and knowingly stated.

This isn’t a good thing for Trump.
He can’t appeal it while it’s in limbo.
They want to hang this over him while he’s in office to keep him in line.

Just so happens to be OUR head of state.

You think this going to keep President Trump in line, do you?
Posted on 11/22/24 at 9:58 am to boomtown143
Ah, keep it so its not be appealed but nothing will ever move forward. So basically they can always call him a convicted felon without ever getting the case dismissed. This is utterly disgusting.

If I read the order right, Trump's team has until 12/2/24 to file for a dismissal and then Bragg's team has a week to file a response. A dismissal now would be the easiest and most logical thing, but the courts have to drag things out and go through the steps as slowly as possible.

That doesn't say what Kyle Cheney says it says.
It says that the Court is going to allow Trump to file a motion to dismiss, and they will set a briefing schedule soon to allow for that. And that sentencing is stayed (postponed) pending the decision of that upcoming motion to dismiss.
If the Court denies Trump's motion to dismiss, it will then decide what to do with sentencing.

I think that’s exactly what they’ve been trying to do since 2016.
This is just their latest attempt at it, but it’s in no way a good thing for Trump.

Because they want to hang it over his head and have the media constantly repeat that the "president is still awaiting sentencing."
If they dismiss it completely, they give up that talking point.

So losing the election big time is Hail Victory???
That's some low standards.

There is a process. 1st step, cancel indefinitely.
I would imagine the roaches are trying to swing a deal for themselves not to be prosecuted, before dismissed.
He has them now. NO WAY should he back off. He can pardon later, but get them all removed from our judicial system
