What does this mean for Joe Sloan?

Everyone swore Underwood loves Sloan and that he’s the reason he was coming to LSU. Is it possible that there’s a behind the scenes deal with Sloan and Michigan?

Or maybe Kelly just moves on from him all together and promotes Cortez to OC?

Sloan is a dead man walking. Kelly is going to fire him immediately after the bowl. Also Cortez is either gone or going back to WR coach. He has provided nothing to this team in coaching and recruiting

I’m with you there. He’s not the guy. Kelly needs a more experienced play caller at the P4 level.

What does that say about Kelly? We have no stability at the coordinators. Screw the CEO coach model. 100 million for a guy that can't hire decent coordinators and we over pay for the ones he hires.

So we basically threw the season away on an inexperienced oc for a qb who will never be on campus?

I’m not sure I agree with framing it that way. We likely will get the next two wins, so it won’t be a losing season per se but a season where we lost ground.

It was a gamble with Sloan and Cortez. We rolled craps. And worse, IMO, making it a shared position. Co-coordinator assigns have failed every time they’re tried.

Nothing in coaching is just an asinine statement considering the development of BT and MN who were not highly thought of coming into last year. Yet both had crazy praise for him. We must understand that this offense is BKs, he just needs a trigger man via play calling. If history is right Cortez might get the call. BK promotes from within a bunch.

Sloan needs a running QB for his offense to really excel and you have two on the bench in Ricky Collins and Colin Hurly...Nuss needs to go pro...

Colin Hurley high school rushing stats: 147 carries for 7 yards and 6 TDs. Senior year 78 for 177 and 5 TDs.

Wouldn’t say he’s a running QB.

Yes. This ^ right here is a prime example of why the Brian Kelly experiment needs to end. Kelly seems like he reacts to situations rather than controlling them. In today’s climate you have to be steps ahead of your adversary with all sorts of plans involved. But to think we blew an entire season on Sloan’s predictable sophomoric offense just because a petulant teen won’t come here if he’s not the OC is absurd. Kelly has allowed a child to run our program. Can you imagine how he would have catered to him had he came? We need proactive 4D Chess players running this show and Kelly is not that guy.

Coordinators flop around left and right everywhere. It’s part of the business.

I’m fine if he leaves or moves back to QB coach but BK better bring in a stud OC.
