Trump just can’t wave his wand and eliminate the department of education

I find it very interesting listening to conservatives who want to eliminate the department of education -
but it feels short sighted because there are federal laws on the books that protect students within department of educational programs- like students with special needs through the American Disabilities Act and also the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
So yeah, parental rights doesn’t effectively addresses college students enrolled into sped classes and they have a protected status under federal law.

Who said he could by waving a wand? Also, everything you posted can easily be overcome. Republicans just need to work together and the far left wackos can’t do a thing to stop them.

Muh Precious rules and regulations. Innovation is impossible. Screw the kids, save the federal jobs. Failure the only option.

I don't think those bills have any requirement for there to be a federal dept of edu. Your post doesn't make any sense. There are plenty of workplace bills that protect rights it doesn't mean the fed runs our businesses

Cry about what exactly? All states get federal money for public universities and colleges- I have yet to hear any mention of actual policy put forward by conservatives in the senate or house for reform.

How were these students protected prior to Jimmy Carter creating the Department of Education in 1979?

Public colleges have been a failure. If something fails, should it be allowed to continue and propped up by the government? Or should we let free market forces take their course.

Sure he can.
Let those that oppose that decision go to court.
In the meantime, the Federal Dept of Ed should be dismantled.
It has destroyed public education in America since its inception.

Laws are laws and are not dependent on the existence of DOEd.
Kill it.
Slash its funding and staff.

He can use the law that allows him to consolidate agencies.
He should give them their FBI director, then fold the FBI and Dept. of Education into one Dept of about 4 people, even that would be 4 too many

I think the DoE is useless in terms of quality education but it would be an enormous undertaking dissolving it. Has any kind of alternative been floated?
What happens to the kids if they don't have school to go to? what happens to the adults if they can't drop their kids at school while working?
