Why isn't this headline news? GOP doesn't show up for work. Radical Left Judge gets in.

This nominee has written that laws against child rape are racist

Well now I'm kinda curious how you can even pretend to logically come to this point

I’d bet a dollar that neither Cassidy nor Kennedy showed up. Horrible senators

Won't matter.

People of those states will vote for the same Republicans next primary.

You have to get into the weeds to see the post that explains what is going on

I'm looking this up, too

LINK

quote:

The 2007 article explored state laws that made the death penalty available for the rape of a child and argued that "child rape statutes, though not laden with the exact same racial baggage as more general rape statutes, are still racialized."

Asked by Lee if he agreed with those statements, Kidd said he did not share those views. Kidd later in a written submission to the panel noted that after the article was published, the U.S. Supreme Court in 2008 held that capital punishment for a non-fatal rape of a child was unconstitutional.

I think this is what they're referencing, so, as expected, seems a bit of a stretch.

In what way is it a stretch. It’s literally exactly what they say.

Guy should not be sniffing that position

The fact that he didn't write the article

The fact that he testified he did not share the views of the article

Five more no votes could have defeated the candidate.

Why didn't they show up? Senate is indeed in session. They are only in seesion about 173 days a year and knowing this was going to happen (the Dems said they were going to try and cram in as many judicial appointments as possible before Jan 3rd) they just said frick it?

What say you Thune? ever considered using the filibuster to try and delay these?

Request a delay on vote because of a made up allegation to delay?

If you boil a politician down to their core responsibilities, voting on legislation and judges is pretty much your only job. Regardless of political party, if a politician can’t vote, or they are “too busy” to vote, they have lost any professional credibility to remain in office. Period!

The fact that Vance and Rubio didn’t vote is a bunch of bullshiite.
