You think you own that tractor, car, or book you bought? Nope. You licensed it.

I do know this has been discussed before on here, but here is a new video that really describes it very well. It in almost everything we use now, from phones to medical devices hospitals use for your care. And yes, the McDonalds shake machine too.

I live this problem.
Now you either have to buy old or the occasional product that is designed deliberately to not have these issues.

I hope Trump fixes this. This is terrible for everyone who buys this stuff, which is basically everyone. Even medical equipment at hospitals have this issue.

Good video.
That's why I posted it, I thought it was a very good explanation of the problem everyone is facing with this.

He needs to know about the issue first. Then he’ll have to spend a tremendous amount of political capital to get congress to change laws or a DOJ to enforce current law (which seems insufficient).
It looks like an uphill battle because of the money on the other side lobbying to protect these companies is massive.

F John Deere and Harley Davidson.

Deere absolutely 100% did a shite job of this- which totally points to their normal arrogance.
Not surprised when it all came out.

Just curious why are farmers still buying John Deere? Why not go with another company that doesn’t do this?

You’ll own nothing and like it.

In the video, they mention GM as well. I'm sure all the car manufacturers are doing this.

I thought they won right to repair?

Watch the video. Only certain states won that bill and it’s limited.

I, for one, am not daunted by the prospect of eating bugs.

This is why we need good hackers and p2p file sharing.

CFPB is the quick and easy hammer for this issue. They can absolutely wreck John Deere and similar companies. You can also look at fraud and other charges. The other thing is to go to other manufacturers and nations and bring in a lot of other options. When competition arrives, companies like Deere will either sink or swim. They have been robbing the farmer for years. And all of us pay the price for this at the grocery store.

The question I have then...if a new manufacturer came along and started selling equipment that ..farmers owned and could maintain. Would farmers remember Jon Deeres practices whe JD rshifted back to match the new competitor.

It’s bad enough they’re fleecing customers but then they’re incompetent at it leading to delays on top of that.
