This is the worst WR room we’ve had in a long time

We should have known that in the offseason, but many on here had the purple and gold glasses on.
I said that our WR corps was in trouble if Kyren Lacy is the #1 WR, and that has proven correct so far. That guy shouldn’t be higher than 3 or 4 in the pecking order at WR on an SEC roster.
Aaron Anderson has been pretty good, but everyone else leaves a lot to be desired. They can’t get separation and help Nuss out. That’s a really bad situation considering that we don’t run the ball very well either.
Chris Hilton was way overhyped and might have the worst ball skills I’ve seen from a college wide receiver. He’s awful. He’s basically the antithesis of Tyrann Mathieu. He has no ball skills at all and never makes a play.
I think we need to burn this WR corps to the ground with the exception of Aaron Anderson and any true freshman that are showing promise. Things might get worse before they get better.

Agree
The top-4 WRs are all transfers (Lacy, AA, Thomas, and Daniels).
IMO, the offense should've been built around getting the ball in space to Durham, AA, and Thomas and maybe JJ (think '07).

Are you fricking joking with this shite? Nuss may have the worst vision of any QB that we have had. He constantly locks on to one receiver , and it doesn’t matter if that receiver is triple covered. There are receivers open he just can’t see them . I’ve seen it in every game this year.

Nuss is just an all around trash QB. He won’t even sniff the draft.

Hopefully Thomas develops as a WR
Daniels was playing well before he got injured. Made a couple catches today.
Parker might be good but he’s not available
Sampson?

Kelly better reset the WR and DB room for next year, because all of them have been straight trash this year.

I agree. The WR room is not a desirable room by a long shot. Lacey can't get separation and drops too many passes. Hilton has speed and 2 things happen: one Nuss can't get him the ball or Nuss gets the ball to him but he jumps too early or not at all. Daniels is ok but def a number 3. Anderson is about the only receiver making plays lately.
Nuss is not as good as people think. Not sure if he is playing with an injury or defenses have figured him out but he has regressed since the Ole Miss game.

Nope. 100% serious. Nothing I said is incorrect. This is the worst WR group we’ve had in a long time.
Not many people will take you seriously if you’re suggesting that some of these wideouts are great.
Mason Taylor has been a great TE, but he’s not a WR.

There’s talent in the wr room but not many sideline wrs. Green, lacy, pimpton Taylor are the only 1,2 receivers I’ve seen on this team.

Why does it matter? When they get separation Nuss doesn't throw it to them anyways.
He can have a wide open Daniels down field and will throw it to Lacy double covered on the sideline 10 out of 10 times.
Dudes decision making is horrendous

Lacy is very overrated by LSU fans, and those other guys are TEs. I’m talking about WRs here.

Longsnapper room also struggling.

I didn’t say they were great. I said that there are wide receivers open every game and Nuss doesn’t see them and instead makes throws to receivers that are covered. If you haven’t seen that then I suggest you switch from Trulys to White Claw while you are watching LSU on offense!

No, no, no, this CAN'T be true. I've seen it posted over and over on these boards that "wide receivers grow on trees in Louisiana." They simply HAVE to be great receivers.
Posted on 11/17/24 at 1:26 am to cbree88
I was thinking that too. Worst WR room in my lifetime.

It seems like they used to. I’d be happy with a dude like Travin Dural as my #1 at this point

Lacy has been ignored the last three weeks. Anderson is a star. Hilton had some drops tonight that hurt.

The overall talent on this team is abysmal compared to most LSU teams the past 25 years. People get so worked up about BK’s press conferences and demeanor and toughness etc etc, when the real question we need to ask is “is the talent level improving each year to get back to LSU standards?” I’m not sure it is, although I hear this upcoming recruiting class should be good.

And to think that 5 star Sampson can’t even see the field

What exactly are you arguing about in this thread then if you don’t think any of our WRs are great?
The whole point of the thread is to discuss how this group of WRs is one of the lesser groups that we’ve had in recent years. Nuss missing some open guys doesn’t change that.
Those two possibilities are not mutually exclusive in any way.
