Just like it says. Which book series need to have film versions?

Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt novels are great source material. I enjoyed Sahara, though the casting was wretched.

Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. He’s been in negotiations about it but he wants a lot of control… and rightfully so.

I’m biased since it’s where I took my username from, but Run With the Horsemen would be a great trilogy. Semi-autobiographical about a boy growing up on a farm during the depression, then going to college, then med school and WWII. It’s funny as heck.
Although, if they’re going to butcher it like Those Who Wish Me Dead, then stay the hell away from it.

The Milo Weaver series from Olen Steinhauer. All the Old Knives was based on his book(the movie kind of sucked) and and he created/wrote the series Berlin Station which was really good. The first two books in the four book Tourist series were maybe the best spy novels I've read, especially the second one. The third was good, the fourth looked like it was going to be some woke bullshite and I didn't finish it. Weaver as a character is great and would make a great on screen protagonist.

Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy
Richard Stark's (aka Donald E. Westlake) Parker series. You know the original book in the series, The Hunter, because it was made into the films Point Blank (1967 directed by John Boorman starring Lee Marvin-fantastic movie) and Payback (1999 starring Mel Gibson and also a fantastic movie). However, the series goes 24 books deep some of which are my favorite crime novels of all time (1965 The Jugger is especially brilliant; 1963 The Mourner; 1971 Slayground; 1971 Deadly Edge).
While the Farseer trilogy could be 3-5 movies, the Parker series should be a series on HBO that could last for years with brilliant material ready to go.

Len Deighton Game, Set, Match trilogy. Just as good as Le Carre's Karla trilogy.

As a teen...I would have loved to have seen a series of Robert Asprin's Myth series turned into movies.

Every time this comes up I submit these:
Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone' series as an HBO/Amazon series. Tom Hiddleston would be a great Elric.
Orson Scott Card's Speaker for the Dead would be an awesome movie now that CGI can do aliens so well. It's a shame that they fricked Ender's Game up so much.
I'd love to see a Doc Savage movie done right.
Same for a Tarzan movie DONE RIGHT. The latest one was a step in the right direction but still missed the mark. Same for John Carter of Mars.
A sequel to Flight of the Intruder by Stephen Coonts would be good to. I read a lot of those books and enjoyed them.
