It looks like Romans on Government is closed. The article specially mentions that he was closing because of crime, parking lot issues, and the landlord raising rent. Roman did say he was moving the location.
Fair warning, if you click the link it like WBRZ just focused on his “crime” statement and interviewed the toy store lady who did there is no crime on Government. You can watch the video for his email statement about crime, parking lot issues, and rent.
Edit: WBRZ added the link back: WBRZ

Saw that story tonight and wondered if there were some things missing / not-reported.
Regarding the original owner / store, I directly remember going there in the early 1980's with a buddy and being told that the owner / place invented "Lebanese Iced Tea" by accident -- having mixed Lemonade and Iced Tea -- and then throwing in some pine nuts to make it different from an Arnold Palmer.
Pure BS? Probably, but it's a way to remember my long-gone dining friend.
ETA for one recipe: Lebanese Iced Tea

Wasn't he charged with tax fraud or something like that about a 10-15 years ago?

I live off of Government Street. I never saw cars at Roman’s.
And if crime is such an issue, why is Superior, which is across the street, always packed?

I don't live off of Gvt, but I'm up and down it all the time. Romans always looked depressing.

He was sentenced to like 4 years of prison. It was some tax fraud at Mi Padres and the Roman restaurants.

Have you ever been in that store? It reeks of mold so badly that no criminal would set foot in there for fearing an allergic reaction or status asthmaticus.

quote:we worked on shoring up and re roofing the building next door when byronz moved out…there was never anyone at Roman’s and the one time I walked over to eat I had to yell for somebody to come out to the counter and take my order LOL. The food was ok I guess but the building was/is gross. Plus and others have said the owner is a shady fricker from way back
Romans always looked depressing
