Yep folks would be very surprised how many of these people are on some type of remote work... They don't work when they are in the office so you know good and damn well they aren't working at home...

Good all the stocks should rise

And if your are lazy enough to quit your job because you are being told to return, I dont feel bad at benefiting from it. Honesty.

Meh, not really a huge fan of that. Some jobs absolutely need full work weeks in the office. Some don't. It's also pretty easy to spot who fricks off at home and who doesn't. They're the same people that don't get shite done while in the office too

ETA: I would love to watch the melts if they do this though, so I guess I support it on that front

Great point. Many people would just quit and wouldn’t need to be laid off

You can still do this. This is addressing all the govt jobs Biden created and bloated agencies from years past.

By buying a bunch of real estate.....and then paying extra for utilities and staff to run the office.

I thought he was gonna save us money not spend more differently

People are against 4-10s work schedules? Seems like that is becoming increasingly popular in office settings.

The federal gov should be in office or field work, you shouldn’t work from home.

I get cutting most of it, but so many industries have a single day option to WFH, at least offer something.

Unless the point is to get a huge number of people to quit and avoid having to mass fire, then by all means.

lots of people do hybrid now, i do a 3/2 schedule now, but I can see this going completely out of the window in the next year or so though

I think hybrid works best for a lot of private sector jobs.

Of course there are some it doesn’t and those all are 5 day in person.

Vivek is right though no more work from home for fed gov makes sense.

If, and this of course would need to be evaluated on a case by case basis, you can effectively do your job while working from home one or two days a week, why?

My job for example could be done from my home officer 90% of the time with zero drop in my effectiveness. Having said that, I wouldn't want a majority WFH schedule.

It’s a complete joke that many of these people haven’t returned to their offices since covid. Goes to show just how unnecessary and expendable their jobs really are.

This is the point... However, I think they need to cut everything by 50% then start with stuff like this... They are in the driver's seat, so however they affect significant cuts is fine by me...
