Who would you put on your all-time LSU defense?

Just my .02
Dorsey - DL
Booger - DL
Spears - DE
Wiley - DE
Richardson - LB
James - LB
Edit - (I overlooked the best guy so adding Brooks) Capone - LB
Peterson - CB
Casanova - CB
Landry - S
Mathieu - S
Obviously, can think of another player at each position that would be interchangeable with these, but just reminiscing about some great Tiger defensive players.

You left off Michael Brooks, seriously ?
Posted on 11/12/24 at 2:51 pm to 91TIGER
Michael was probably the best Linebacker ever to play for LSU.

You left off Estay at DT, White at ILB, Brooks (as mentioned) and white at nickel back.
Pound for pound toughest., Ricky Picou

DE Spears
DT Booger
DT Dorsey
Edge Northern
LB Brooks
LB James
Lb Capone
CB Peterson
CB Webster
S Mathieu
S Delpit
Cb is really hard to decide.
Casanova is obviously a legend, I just don’t know about guys from the 70s as modern day corner backs and he played safety in the NFL. Our first black players joined Casanova’s senior year.

Any list that doesn’t have Michael Brooks at one of the LB spots should be ignored.

Delpit 2018 season was one of, if not the greatest season an LSU DB has ever had. That season alone makes him worthy of this list.

I would have Leonard Marshall at DE, two time Super Bowl champ, two time All-Pro, three time Pro Bowl, NYG Ring of Fame. No issue with the DTs but Kyle Williams and Ron Estay were greats.
If I were putting together a team, Casanova would be at free safety, with Delpit at strong. Landry was an excellent tackler but not as good in coverage. Jamal Adams was very good. Peterson and Webster are good CB choices. Anyone else remember Chris Williams? Chris still holds the all-time record for interceptions (20) at LSU, and had three INTs in one game, as well as tied for the single season record (8 in 1978). All-SEC and played CB for the Buffalo Bills.

Great list! Devin Wite is my LB

You also forgot the only player in the History of college football to be named a Consensus All-American on the defensive side of the ball as a true freshman...Derek Stingley, Jr.
Grant it due to Covid and injuries his career at LSU was disappointing...but he deserves a mention.

CB Peterson
CB Stingley
CB Mathieu
S Delpit
S Reid
DE Hunter
DE Hill
DT Brockers
DT Dorsey
LB White
LB Queen
Note I'm only including players I've seen play and am basing some of this on NFL performance and an actual personnel grouping and not just the stars. I think this would be a great defense.

Bevan was a linebacker, not DL. Fun to watch.
Craig Burns was very good, but purely a safety, not a CB. Excellent punt returner.
Sancho had a knack for making a play at a crucial time, but not the LB consistently as others listed.
Steltz benefitted from playing on one of the best Ds we ever had.
Rehage? I would easily prefer Eric Reid, Jr. (first round pick, NFL All-Pro), All-American on LSU's best D ever and beat Bama with a great interception covering a TE that wasn't his responsibility.
Weeks? C'mon, man. Been drinking the Rant Koolaid?
Anyone remember Toby Caston at LB? Not great in coverage but pity the RB who tried to convert a fourth and one.
