We are about to find out how real they are. Looking forward to it.

Do I think they are the 5th best team? No
But with ND having a loss to NIU and Tennessee with a loss to Arky, hard to have them elsewhere.
They are no more fraudulent than Penn State

Got to give the B1G credit, they turned the tables on the SEC, for now.

Are they that good? Probably not. That said they are having a great year and hope they can keep winning. Cignetti has done awesome job there.

And Penn State isn't THAT fraudulent....1 score loss to OSU.
PSU has been a punching bag for the public ever since JoePa died....let it go..
They just whipped a Washington team that has given favorites Ls...hello Michigan and USC. Look at the blunders and stubbed toes of Alabama and Georgia in comparison.... It's worse, far worse.

Meh. They've played a shite schedule but they've never been above losing to a shite schedule. Doesn't impact my team so I'm not salty about freaking Indiana being a top 5 team. Good for them. Hope their fans are having a blast with it.

Well, I feel they ate better than LSU!

If you would have told me Indiana would beat both teams that played in the national championship game last year, I’d say I don’t believe you.

1. Oregon (62) 10-0
2. Ohio State 8-1
3. Texas 8-1
4. Penn State 8-1
5. Indiana
It's a Big10 world now.

It's more a product of how the schedule has played out. The B1G has 4 really good teams at the top, a few halfway decent teams after that, then the bottom half of the league is garbage.
The sec is a lot deeper top to bottom.

Who is going to get him first ? Too bad LSU is stuck w/ Les Miles 2.0 for a long time. Beamer at USCe ain't doing too bad either. Has been in every game and LSU and BAMA were lucky to beat them.

SEC is far better top to bottom and has been a meat grinder

If you switch out the Indiana logo for OSU or Michigan they’d be #1

2000s taking points. Have we not evolved in analysis?
The bias has moved on.
No one believes this "we beat each other up every week" refrain anymore. The field has been leveled.

I think the real story that we should focus on is that Georgia lost, again, and their season is over.

I don’t think so this year. The addition of Texas and elevation of Ole Miss and South Carolina have added a lot of depth.
To wit, 5 of the top 9 and 9 of the top 25 in FPI are SEC teams. Massey Composite has 5 of top 9 and 10 of top 25.
The Big Ten is pretty stinky past Indiana, as weird as it is to say that about IU. Only SC (18) and Iowa (23) are in the top 25 outside the top four in FPI. Only Michigan (22) is in the Massey Composite top 25 outside the top four.
It’s why two loss SEC teams are getting the benefit of the doubt in the rankings. Penn State and Indiana would be bounced with two losses.

10 - 2 UGA is absolutely in with wins at Texas and home against Tennessee.

SEC fans love making this argument, but the SEC was not very good in non-conference play this year.
Texas A&M, LSU, Vandy, Arkansas, Auburn, Miss. St. & Florida all have non-conferences losses.
Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky& South Carolina haven’t played a non-conference opponent with a pulse yet.
The Georgia blowout over Clemson is really the SEC’s only impressive non-conference win this season.
