It's time, no more injury excuses.

The injuries are Willie's fault? Or do really blame Willie for the inability of our two-way players to beat actual NBA players?

Hopefully she got a taste for blood with DA and is ready to go

I really don't think Willie gets fired this season unless things go WAAAAAY south.
It'll look bad from an ownership standpoint if both of your assets had of its head coaches fired mid-season in the span of a few months.

It didn't bother Milwaukee last season when they canned Griffin with a 30-13 record.
Optics are overrated.

Not as bad was keeping 1 or both of them asn being stuck in a perpetual state of failure.
IMO especially in DA's case but Willies as well, no one can say they weren't given a fair shot and it was a knee jerk reaction.

I would say using Milwaukee is a pretty bad example of this.

Or when JJ Riddick bad mouth the organization because of how we handled him and promising no player would want to ever come here. Or when we canned Van Gundy after 1 season. This organization has had bad optics and they've never hurt them and it always gets forgotten about.

Does it though? The Pelicans around the NBA don’t have a great reputation of being some class organization that does things the right way. In fact other players go on podcasts a make a mockery of our organization at times.

I don't really see anything really negative floating around about this organization. You even have a GM who was recently hired as POBO and a roster that Is generally well regarded around the league. You were able to bring in an assistant like Borrego and a guy like Murray wanted to come here.

I want to preface this by saying I love the pels but I disagree with you on this.
Our reputation around the NBA with fans, players and media is that we’re a mom and pop organization that will never spend enough to win big and play in a very small market in one of the worst arenas in the league.
Happy for Trajan but I’m not sure many Pistons felt ecstatic hiring a guy who didn’t do much in nola other than a couple of first round playoff losses. Most people criticized our roster for not even having a nba center.
I like Borrego but I’m not sure I would count the hiring of him as a huge win for the organization. I loved the Dejounte trade and his attitude but he was also traded here- didn’t have much of a choice. I mean the last big free agent this team signed I think was a declining Peja during the CP3 era. Theres a reason many big free agents don’t consider coming here. Not to mention our last 2 stars both wanted to leave the organization.
I hope our organization starts winning big and some of these things change but I haven’t seen any evidence of that yet. But again winning changes everything.

And look at them now, they’re wishing they still had Griffin

If you’re honestly still giving Willie a pass cos of injuries across these four season then you need to get your head out of the sand . His proven injuries or not that his not the right coach for this team and for BI and Zion .
Even when we had a semi healthy team this year with a small sample size we still
Sucked

Players are going to shite on most organizations

I don't know what people expect from this team. It is a small, mom/pop organization. It is always going to struggle with financials. It's how it's supposed to be. We can't and shouldn't be able to outspend big market loaded teams. That's not how you beat them. Getting into an arms or spending race is foolish. There has to be levels of income. This isn't communism, where everyone is equal.
Green has his faults. He was a young, unproven coach that's not a tactician. He is a culture coach. Maybe he evolves, maybe not. But his bench coaches are the ones that are supposed to be instituting systems. He leans on them for that knowledge. Is there a wedge in between him and Borrego? Is Borrego trying to sabotage him? Or is Green overruling or ignoring him?

When did that happen? Even when guys played, they are hobbled. It's not an excuse. But we are decimated.
Green is the most successful coach in Pelicans history. Fire him at your peril. It's not going to be well received around the league. If they do it, they might as well tear it all down (which I'm not opposed). It just always blows my mind how Green (maybe 3M a year) gets more blame than Zion or Ingram (both over 30M a year)..

The injuries aren’t his fault, but Willie is a sub-par coach at best. He’s great with the players and creating a positive locker room culture, he’s really bad at game management

Yeah injuries arent his fault but we looked horrible when we still had health. That 2nd portland game and the 1st warriors game, we had plenty enough health and talent to win those easily, and Willie blew it with a completely inept offensive scheme.
This league is all about offense. I just want a young innovative offensive coach.
Someone like Will Hardy on the Jazz. Get someone like him.
