Our slate is loaded Saturday. Has anyone ever driven in late for a game?
I have parking pass. I’d imagine traffic would be better as long as I get there before all the fans who leave at halftime. ??

Traffic gets worse before the game. The closer to game time, the worse it gets.

I can’t say what it’s like at halftime because I’m in the stadium but if I had to guess, you would have traffic leaving the stadium rather than going to it.

But keep in mind that the roads right around the stadium will be blocked/barricaded and you won’t be able to drive down them like you normally would (if you’re planning on driving down around halftime).

Will you be coming from Lake Charles? Getting across the bridge takes FOREVER.

This is 100% false for big night games. People get to those games early. An hour before the Ole Miss game this year Burbank and Nicholson were pretty much empty, because whoever was going to the game was already on campus.

Depends on where you’re coming from. If you’re already in BR, maybe. In the 20+ years I’ve driven over for games from Lake Charles, it’s not false.

In any event, what I was saying is if he’s anticipating on getting there around halftime and if he’s coming from two hours west having to go over the bridge, it won’t be as simple as it sounds.

You can’t get over the bridge going east on day when there isn’t a game without delays, not to mention all the closed roads that will be barricaded the closer to campus you get.

And that’s on the east side of the river. I think he’s coming from Lake Charles.

I used to get there around the 2nd quarter and it was hardly no traffic.

I didn't get to campus until an hour and a half before the Ole Miss game. I didn't have much trouble with traffic. It seemed like it cleared up as it got closer to game time.

Stanford Avenue, a major feeder artery for games, is empty 15-20 minutes before kickoff. There have been a few exceptions but it’s rare.

Yep I'm thinking we could get there by mid 1st quarter if no traffic issues.

Better if you came at halftime; plenty of parking then.

Got on campus around 230-300 for the Ole Miss game. Traffic was backed up and we had to drive around for a bit to find a parking spot but it wasn't bad. People who just tailgate will probably be leaving 2 hours before the game so you could find a parking spot.

2016 I think when Ole Miss was top 5, drove in from Thibodaux and got to campus about 45 minutes before kick-off. Had a parking pass also and drove right in, parked and in my seat for kick-off. I came Highway 30 from Gonzales area and didn't have any traffic.

I now live walking distance and traffic eases up about an hour before.

I think you will be ok coming in about that time. Only traffic you might see is those tailgaters not going to the game heading home to watch.

My uncle claimed that every night game, he would drive up around 4 with minimal traffic and park on campus with no wait. I didn't believe him until I went to the Auburn game with him last year.

It was exactly as he described. Drove in late with almost no traffic and parked by the Ag Center. There were multiple spots open from people leaving.

For the Auburn game last year, I got from the airport, parked, and into TS in about 20 minutes to get in my seat right after kickoff. There was no one on the road on campus

2010 Bama. It was bad, but not as bad as I thought. Parked way down Nicholson.

(Came in from New Orleans, arrived about 45 mins prior to kickoff.)

Not my experience
A lot of people leaving campus
Plenty of available parking if you know where to look.

As long as you have a parking pass, you're fine. Traffic will suck, yes, but what is your alternative?

How late are you driving in?

They oversell the paid lots. If you get there late your lot will be full and they'll direct you to an overflow lot. If the attendant knows what they're doing it'll be somewhere nearby. If they don't, you'll be sent to a public lot in BFE.

It's a fun experience trying to argue with a minimum wage worker and maybe a cop while in the middle of the street with people behind you.

Your parking pass makes this doable.
