Could be that when you bought the best talent available in the portal and you do not even make the playoff, you become irrelevant. However I think the fault may also lie with Lane's ability to coach.

That’s on him though. They have a top 5 team in the country, his coaching has cost the 2 games to inferior opponents. This teams ceiling was to win it all and he has maybe blown it. I actually think they beat Georgia this week though.
