Is there a strategic reason we send tens, hundreds of billions of taxpayer $ to countries?

I just don't get why we would do this. This is money we earned. Why the hell would we send hundreds of billions (not sure on figure) to other countries? While they have 0 plan to pay back even $0.01 of it back. Does it benefit the US in some way? Do they give us free product back? What is the payoff in doing this?
Why would I sweat probably 1 week of my work, my income, the stress that goes with it to go to a foreign country that potentially wouldn't do shite back for me?

Zero benefit to American citizens. Our politicians are corrupt and don’t do what’s best for America or its people.

It’s global welfare. You give people enough money, they’ll do what you want.

The only reason I could think of is Soft Power. Once we stop giving to a country. China will be there to fill the void.

Exactly how much is a ten hundred billion?
Seriously though.... Oh, there's a strategy alright!
None of which takes into consideration what's best for America or its citizens. It's soley based on increasing (name the corporation) profit margin.

How will these countries buy our weapons if we don’t give them the money?

Money laundering and to prop up the MIC.

Yes it’s very simple:
Ukraine: the military industry complex want this war.
Israel: 90% of politicians in congress are controlled by them, we bankroll their military and wars.

Politicians need some way to launder their bribes.

Yes. The people managing the sending carve out a fraction for themselves, or negotiate payback in some way. That was easy.

It’s so they will like us.

A big part of it is to persuade other nations to keep the US dollar (a currency based upon accumulating debt rather than upon tangible wealth) as the standard for international trade. I promise you the Fed plays a huge part in sending US dollars to other countries as "aid" in an effort to stave off the inevitable collapse of their Ponzi scheme.

Are they actually sending money to a country or sending money to companies owned by their friends, or themselves, for the “benefit” of that country?

For influence.

Money laundering. All this money being printed is also being used to prop up the stock market. Without it the market would have been in the tank the last few years. Most middle class and lower don’t have money to invest due to inflation.

Well for one you’ve stumbled upon the method whereby 90% of Washington politicians become multi millionaires in a matter of years.
