McElwein by Florida? Didn't he win the east two of his three years at UF? I guess shark humping is where they draw the line.

FIU firing Cristobal and East Carolina firing Ruffin McNeil were both terrible calls.

Those are good ones. I'll add Ruffin McNeill at East Carolina.

McElwain went crazy at the end. He got fired because he made up fake threats against his life and got caught. You can’t have someone like that representing your organization

Auburn firing Malzhan is steadily climbing the ranks.

Solich was a dinosaur and so was Nebraska, maybe they prematurely fired him by a few years but it was inevitable.

I know he wasn't good at the end of his tenure, but Cal firing Jeff Tedford looks pretty bad in hindsight when you consider they've tolerated Justin Wilcox for the last 8 seasons.

In the pantheon of whackadoo SEC head football coach frickery, that seems kind of mild.

I think the Tedford thing had to do with $$$$ -Cal was paying him a lot and the university needed the cash

Geoff Collins was more responsible for those SEC East titles

It wasn't just firing Solich but they moved away from the their bread and butter in favor of a pro style offense.

I wonder how much that worked out for them since they ended up paying Sonny Dykes his buyout a year after giving him an extension.
