I've been a fan of this shite franchise for too long and we have seen this before.

I'm really not sure this roster when fully healthy is top 8 in the league. Zion STILL has shown up out of shape and needing 20 games to get in shape, has added nothing to his game, and has had the worst start of his entire career.

The main addition this offseason is hurt and will be out until December at the earliest. Trey Murphy: hurt. CJ: hurt.

BI in the last year of his contract and likely is gone next year for nothing.

Willie simply doesn't understand the current era of basketball and how to relay it to players or get them to execute it.

Griffin has done a terrible job assimilating as well and has just not grasped how to build a team with a guy like Zion. He clearly thought as well he would be able to trade BI for a Center and parts following the DM trade and failed.

Its early. VERY early. We can see where we are in February. It can still work, and there's a good chance we win a decent amount of regular season games if we have a healthy roster, even make the playoffs. But this feels very much like echoes of the past. I hope it turns around.

We still aren't a modern offense after 5-6 years. Gentry was the closest to making it work with BI and Z in a modern style of offense. We have consistently regressed ever since while trying to out talent opposing teams year in and year out. And it definitely feels like they've been figured out and there's no answers to be had.

I've never been this disinterested in a season before. I'm trying too, even signed up for Pelicans+ after continuously saying I wouldn't. But I just can't get there. I was so displeased this entire offseason with how Griff handled it. The last few games definitely didn't help. I didn't even bother to turn on the game last night.

The biggest problem I have with this season is that it's now confirmed that this team's ceiling is still not close to where we expected it to be.

So like, even if we get healthy ( ), we're still what? the 6th or 7th best team in the west?

It's just apathy at this point, and that's the worst thing a franchise can do to its fanbase.

Exactly.

And now we are ONCE AGAIN, about to go back to trading off our star that we picked super high with super high expectations that weren't met, and back to the drawing board.

We might not get lucky and get a #1 pick this time and then we are stuck in permanent rebuild.

I think arguably worse is, like usual, we don't actually know the answer to this because we'll go who knows how far into the season before we ever see our core 5 or 6 dudes all playing in the same game.

Saw a clip of CP/West/Chandler/Peja.... gosh I miss those days dearly.

I feel like ever since the franchise name switched to Pelicans its been all down hill....

What's sad is that it's gotten incrementally worse with each star.

CP: Nearly finished first in the West and were a game 7 away from making the WCF

AD: Swept a first round opponent

Zion: Still TBD on what the highwater mark is for his era, but so far it's taking the Suns to 6 games in a season that Zion never stepped on the floor.

Last night was the first in a while that I didn’t care to watch. Fans like us who are very involved can tell when a team is collapsing. I don’t see us winning much at all until Murray comes back. And I don’t think anyone in management or ownership either cares or has the balls to fire Willie during the season.

I have already sensed apathy setting in so to answer your question , it feels like we are nearing the end of the era .

Too many injuries . Too many missteps personnel and asset wise . Top end talent isn’t good enough . We have reached mediocrity which seems like the ceiling for the team as constructed

I wonder if these sound bites of tiredness and frustration make it through to the team’s brass… or players

And if it does… do they even give a shite?

Bring a die hard Pel and watching this shite be served up again an again and again…. With this talent is so very tiresome and so frustrating.

I didn't even bother to turn on the game. If Herb is not playing, we can't win.

This team lost twice to Pray Draymond and the bench. Once bad. And we had all we needed to win big. Its crazy to watch.

Would you care about what Joe Schmo thought if you were guaranteed millions and millions of dollars to play a game ?

There are some that take pride in their preparation and play . Others that don’t . I don’t know that either side of the coin gives a flying flip about you, or I , or the peanut gallery.

On the ownership side we have an owner that has literally nothing to lose . She inherited a billion dollar operation that was originally purchased for peanuts . She gets huge TV money and revenue sharing . What’s her motivation to make the on court product better? Would she know how to make it better if the current situation bothered her ?

On the management side we have a POBO who can’t /wont admit when he’s wrong and is dug in so deep with this roster that he can’t let go. He’ll just continually make excuses and sell unicorns and rainbows .
