Will they keep Mitch McConnell as majority leader?

No. He's already said he's stepping down from leadership, hasn't he?

No. He already said he wasn’t running again for Leader.

I am hoping Scott, Cruz, or Hawley run.

My bet is Thune gets it though

Republicans are going to need about 54-54 majority to get anything meaningful done.

Murkowski, Collins, Thillis, Cassidy, etc will obstruct

So 64. It takes 60 to break a filibuster but the 4 you mentioned.

You think this hasn't already been worked out behind the scenes?

It will be Thune. Uniparty will uniparty. If hell freezes over and its not Thune, it will be Cornyn, another uniparty hack.

Even if Republicans flip the senate with Republicans like Murkowski, Graham, and Cornyn is it really a majority.

It’s not “if”, it’s “when and by how much”.

GOP will pick up seats in WV and MT. That flips the Senate.

GOP could pick up OH, WI, AZ, MI, NV, and PA as well.

When Republicans are in control, Murkoswki and Collins routinely vote to break filibusters and with the Republicans on pretty much all of the issues? I mean, sure, they bitch and moan about it, but when they vote, don't they still vote with Republicans? Or am I misremembering?

He was forced to step down when his quotes in that upcoming book where he called Trump voters losers among a litany of other things.

If he weren’t a sitting senator he might’ve been kicked out of the GOP for his old man rant.

Yep, some things can be filibustered, some can’t. Your other point about needing +4 is absolutely true.

NO and Trump needs to support an open ballot for it, not just choose the next rino in line.

Hawley is a brilliant man! Every time I watch him on YouTube he is just killing people with his verve, intellect and witticism.

On a side note, I would love to see the left melt if Elon Musk was voted in as Speaker of the House.

Their power tends to come with small majorities.

It’s been quite a while since we got a “gang of ten.” I think that was about four John McCain funerals ago.

Thune or Cornyn.

Both of them suck.

It’ll be Thune because of how the internal system works in the Senate.

Won’t matter for most things though. The best the GOP can do is 54-55 seats and that’s pie in the sky type stuff. 52 is more likely. We’ll get a tax bill under reconciliation, judicial appointments, and nothing else because filibuster.

Speaking of flipping the senate, a door knocker claims he came across 5 Harris-Hovde voters in a small WI town.
