It's getting tiring hearing Kelly whining about ATM's Reed. He then offers it up as a valid excuse. . . like a get out of jail free card. "Well, we were kicking azz until they put that guy in. . ."

Wahh, wahh, wahh. It's like ATM did something wrong or underhanded by using its second string QB. "We would have won if those wascally Aggies hadn't put THAT GUY in".

For once, I wish Kelly would accept the blame totally and quit trying to deflect to the nebulous "we need to do a better job as coaches" or as players, etc. While all of that is true in a sense, it doesn't change the fact that he's the unbelievably well-paid leader and the buck stops with him. Not a nebulous "coaches" or "players" faction.

Just nut up Brian, and say you got outcoached by one of your former assistants.

That being said, GEAUX TIGERS and BEAT BAMA!!!

Everything is a get out of jail free card with him.

Immune to taking accountability beyond a sound bite like “we need to be better”

He listened and heard what he wanted to hear. Decided that saying they need to do a better job as coaches is not taking responsibility unless you outright say you got outcoached. Say they did a better job of adjustments doesn't count either.

It really reads like he was just looking for a reason to whine, which is sort of ironic

And he used the word “nebulous” twice in one paragraph. Brian Kelly would have never done that shite.

They hate the fact that Kelly takes blame when he deserves it, but also holds players/coaches accountable when they deserve it. It's almost like they expect him to take full accountability for everything that goes awry with the gameplan... that's not how teams get better.

Maybe it was difficult for you to understand what was said.

Kelly always uses the trope "we need to do a better job as coaches". He deflects to the nameless, faceless "coaches" phrase. Or "players need to execute better". He cleverly deflects from himself directly taking responsibility. It's "coaches", "players", the "second string QB" or someone behind that tree . . .

And the fact that they didn't game plan for Reed. . . If that's the case, then whose fault is that? The "coaches" or him, who didn't make sure that the defense prepared during the week?

And yes, he just got outcoached the second half. . . Straight up.

I understand that you are now whining about people pointing out your mistakes.

Just nut up and admit you were wrong and outcommented by other posters.

Bud, take a lap. Kelly is one of the coaches. When he puts blame on 'coaches' he is included in that.

He quite literally does the exact opposite of this. When he says "coaches", is he not included in that?

Well, he keeps saying he needs to do a better job as a coach, when is he going to actually do it? I've been defending Kelly for three years, now but I'm no longer on that trip. Everyone has their own opinion and mine is no better than anyone else's, but I just do not believe he will ever be any better than a 9-3, 10-2 Cheez-It Bowl coach at LSU. I hope he proves me wrong and I will gladly eat my crow if he does, but I just see too many things happening in games that should not be happening, especially at this point in the season.

This is so fricking stupid.

He's talking about the coaches. He's a fricking coach. His face is right there in the interview.

How much of a dumbass can you be?

What did Reed do that they don't practice against every week? Did Reed run a triple option? Did Reed run some exotic offense? Do you not think the defense practices against a zone read every week? Does the defense have time to practice against every possible offensive play call every week?

quote:

And yes, he just got outcoached the second half. . . Straight up.
Elko had ZERO choice but to put in Reed. Weigman was stinking it up. It took ZERO brains, and there was ZERO controversy to put Reed in. That's not great coaching. That's just realizing that there was ZERO other choice to make. "Duh, this isn't working, what else can I do. Oh yeah, I got this other guy right here. Hmmm, let's try him."

Whining over multiple paragraphs about a coach whining when your whine is definitely the worse of the two whines.

One thing I didn’t like with in his press conference was how he immediately pointed to the defensive flaws. I expect fans to be reactionary like that but not the HC. 2 back breaking picks and a sorry arse offensive gameplan triggered the implosion. Defense did not answer the call in the second half. But he was the same one earlier on in the season saying that the offense can’t put them in positions where they have to win games for the team.

Maybe I’m just overthinking it feels like he is more protective of the offense than the defense in the press.

The shots of Blake baker standing in his hip pocket almost like a beat dog when shite went south don’t sit well with me either. I don’t think that was Blake Baker’s choice.

Do these "fans' not realize we had played 2 running QB's the previous 2 games so they had already prepared for a running QB. No they didn't execute but to say they didn't prepare for Reed is ridiculous, If we hit a few of those FG then maybe the game ends differently. If Nuss doesn't throw the interceptions and hits some of those passes on the move that he has hit all year maybe the game ends up differently. But this constant whining about BK as if any coach that was available when he was hired is better. Same thing happened to Ga against AL. I guess Kirby sucks and should be fired because obviously he got outcoached by Deboar who lost to Vandy. LOL. LSU is still playing for an SEC Championship and a playoff spot. That is why Kelly was hired. To fix the dumpster fire O left. He has done that so far. Is he where he wants to be? No.Can they do better? Yes. But get off the tampon box. We are ride or die with Nuss right now. We have multiple running QB's waiting in the wings. We are on the right path regardless of this 3rd year BS.
