Any must-do tours, or spots to visit, in the LA area?

We really enjoyed the Warner Bros studio tour. It was a lot more than I expected.

We did the Paramount tour. It was good with a lot of history. We took a star’s homes tour but it was people like Katy Perry and Kardashians. It seems all of the older homes like Sinatra have been torn down for new houses.

SoFi Stadium if you’re an NFL fan. You get to visit two NFL locker rooms in that tour.

We did Warner Bros and Dodger Stadium. Got to see the Vin Scully press box, ride in elevator players use, see their championship trophies, sit in the dugout, etc. This was right after WS against Astros. Still had some press credentials in press box area.

Start in Hollywood, take sunset Blvd through Beverley hills all the way to the pacific ocean and Malibu.

Hollywood is gross. I'd recommend starting in weho around crescent heights.
However, if you must see Hollywood, you need to be on Hollywood Blvd. There isn't anything to see on sunset Blvd in Hollywood.

Was a lot of cheesy fun. We really enjoyed it.
Griffin Observatory is cool. You can do a bit of hiking there if you wish. It's how you get to the Hollywood sign, but that's a hike as well. You can look out over all of LA.
While a bit trashy, if you've never been at least drive down Hollywood Blvd. and see the old Grauman's Chinese Theater. It's named something else now. See some of the stars on the sidewalk as well.

hollywood sucks. I wish I could get that half of a day back in my life. The most overrated town.

We went this past summer for a week in Malibu. Was awesome. Would not recommend spending too much time in the actual city of LA or Hollywood. The SoFi tour sounds awesome and wish we would have done that. We played golf in Thousand Oaks, surfed in Malibu, spent a day in Venice and had drinks and dinner on a rooftop hotel restaurant overlooking the ocean and the Venice beach area. We did the PCH to Beverly Hills drive one day. That was spontaneous and we did not really have a plan. Just stopped at Palisades Village for lunch, some shopping, and then drove into Beverly Hills where my kids wanted to stop at the McLaren and Lambo dealerships. The sales guy at McLauren was super cool and let my teenage boys sit in the cars even though he knew we were just window shopping. The Santa Monica pier was overrated for me, but it was still cool. We also drove around UCLA just to see the campus. The whole area is absolutely stunning, and the amount of money in Malibu is mind-boggling.

This. Unless you were going to specific event like the Hollywood Bowl or a Dodger Game, etc
A night hike in Griffith Park to the Observatory is pretty cool though.

we drove the 4+ hours up to Sequioa National Park and saw the sequoia trees. Would highly recommend that. Then, we went over to Oxnard Beach and drove south down the coastline stopping at a variety of stops along the coast.
