Think about it. Every product they produce, no matter how diverse their portfolio, is known for rock solid quality and durability.

Toyota/Lexus engines
Musical Instruments
Sound Equipment
Marine Engines
Personal Watercraft

Absolutely nothing they make is junk.

4 wheelers have been pretty good also.

I heard they were the first to make it vertical instead of horizontal in the east.

Yamaha is great. But as far as outboards go the 300 HPDI and the F225 that would corrode out its entire mid section say hello and were certainly junk.

I was going to mention Honda but I think Yamaha takes the cake with the instruments and audio.

This is not comparing things with motors because I would think Honda may have the advantage.

It’s hard to kill a Honda 4 wheeler

Outboards have a corrosion issue and vastly inferior to Zukes

Ain’t nobody be affording a Rolex when we got Honda and Yamaha SXS’s to buy.

I guess I’ve never really seen the draw to Rolex. Every time I want to blow 12k to 20k I buy something way cooler.

I’ve heard this but not seen it myself. I have owned no less than 8 Yamaha outboards through the years and they’ve all been rock solid.

I thought about making the argument but abstained.

The level of vertical integration is extremely high and their QC is nearly unmatched but not perfect. They have one of the most valuable luxury marks in the world and despite building 800k anachronistic mechanical babbles they are in the enviable position of deciding who they sell to. Their products often sell on the secondary market immediately for well over retail.

I’ve done it, but it really fricking hurt. So I guess you could say I killed it, but it didn’t die of natural causes.

The Japanese have been hopeless lately. If it's not a Ducati, you might as well stay in the paddock. The furball Rins may be in the top ten of the grid this week (it's close either way, but I didn't look), but Fabio is near the bottom. In fairness, the Japanese have basically given up, which is sad. Think about the greats that rode Yammy's: Rossi, Agostino, Lorenzo, Lawson, and Rainey. There are lots of others but that is half of the 10 greatest riders ever.

As an aside it has been a damn good championship this year. Forza Pecco!

I’ve had this thing for the past 20 years. I’ve put it through hell, wrecked it, sank it in water, left it out in the elements for about 3 years unused, got back on it, changed the gas, and it cranked right up. I’m pretty sure it’s invincible.
