This shite is weird as hell right? What kind of nut job is okay with being tracked 100% of the time. Do people not trust their spouses at all anymore? Or want their children to have even the slightest hint of independence?

Decent husbands whose wives have a tendency to worry about them.

I have 2 of them. Both driving. I don't know where they are unless I ask them. Somehow they haven't gotten into any trouble, been arrested or knocked any chick's up yet.

We have it, I don't give a shite who knows where I am, and neither does my wife. It's more to track the kids, I mostly use it to see how much time before my wife gets home so I can make sure my honey do chores are completed

In this insano world we're currently living in, if you don't want to know where your underage children are then u may not be parenting well enough.

when they first start driving it's definitely worth it
my kid hydroplaned off interstate in rain and it was definitely worth having at that time when he called frantic

I would say when they get to college it's time to let them go

what bugs me more is the parents that facebook document their entire kids existence all the way thru high school

More like I don't trust my newly driving teenager to be able to tell me where he is if something happens. Kids these days have NO IDEA how to get anywhere without Google Maps. Yesterday, he went to a meeting 30 minutes from the house in an area of town that he's never driven in. I tried to tell him the route to take so that he would avoid interstate construction, but that's the way the map took him, so that's the way he went. It was very nerve wracking, but I was glad to know where he was in case he got in trouble.

Yes life360 is lame. No and the crappy helicopter parents in here are going to try and justify why they need it

So I have the same reaction as OP. But a kid I know who wrecked his motorcycle and was laying unconscious for a couple hours was found via Life 360. So I guess we balance privacy with safety.

I could see it if they are getting in trouble all the time, but having a constant need to know where everyone is all the time is definitely weird.

But it wasn't and everything turned out just fine for probably 95% of the people rummy grew up with.
