Arkansas matches up terrible with this team

Their weakness offensively is their offensive line which has allowed 3 more sacks than Ole Miss in the same amount of games. Our DL is the strength and rushing the passer. Defensively, Arkansas hasn’t faced a good passing team yet and still haven’t even performed well against those sub-par passing teams. Give me LSU 35-17 as long as the team is focused and not still caught up in last weeks game.

I do like the LSU matchup in this game, but we have to get the ball. There will be chances Saturday to make a pick, get the sack, and fall on a few loose balls. We have to take advantage when the opportunity is presented.

I’m sure the majority of the people putting money on Arky are banking on LSU having a let down game in a tough environment.

Yeah I'm betting lsu -5.5... no way we don't win by more than two scores. Even if we start out flat.

Our DL is the strength

Our sacks against ole miss came from scheme blitz's in 2nd half. Swinson man handle in the first. Other then that, dts had very little push for us. Hopefully they can continue to do their jobs in run game and hold lanes up, let others make plays.
We'll need to come out aggressive with our front 6-7, both to fill their run gaps, and get after that qb.

LSU is going to smash Arkansas no matter how many times this place calls it a trap game it won't be matter

Still not saying much. I would say pass rushing is our strength on D, not DL in general.

On the flip side, South Carolina ranks 133/133 in sacks alllowed, meaning they have given up more sacks than every other FBS team and 12 more than Arkansas has allowed in the same amount of games. In that game we also faced a QB who can’t throw for a half and then a backup who didn’t even try to throw in the 2nd half.

Arky runs the ball well. They key for us on D will be gap assignment and tackling. We haven't been consistent at either.
Let's get right on those and we slaughter the piggys!

Never said it wasn’t. Just saying it’s not based off matchups. On paper, LSU matches up really well.

We matched up poorly with Ole Miss and found a way to win. This is a much more favorable match-up based on position groups.
Arkansas is a good team, but if they weren't at home and had a week to prep and we were coming off the Ole Miss high, I would have LSU with a double digit win. With these factors I think LSU gets a final go ahead score mid way through the 4th.

Arkansas point total at 26.5 seems high to me. If they do find a way to win, I would think it would be in a 20-17ish game.

Can you imagine going back to July and telling the board this would be the case?

that can be good and bad. If our ends rush hard up field we will susceptible to qb runs...i have to think we try to keep him in the pocket and force him to throw

We should be able to throw it on them and get to their QB, but their running game has me a bit worried. Our DTs and LBs need to be sure tackling and be gap disciplined.

The majority of the people betting on Arkansas think they are better than LSU. Including yours truly. Go Hogs

Who would have thought our defense would be a strength this year.
