Hangout Fest - Sand in My Boots
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I don't think this can be as bad as some of the lineups from recent years, can it?

Hangout Fest producers announced Thursday that they’ve partnered up with country star Morgan Wallen. On the weekend of May 16-18, the Hangout Fest and Wallen will bring the debut of Sand in My Boots to the sugar beaches of Gulf Shores.
According to information released by AEG Presents, the “new three-day festival and beach vacation” will be an experience defined by Wallen’s tastes and ambitions. It will feature “a highly curated multi-genre lineup with some of Wallen’s closest friends, favorite artists, those who have inspired him, and that he has always wanted to perform with. Every artist, activity, and experience will be handpicked by Wallen, driven by his excitement to share great music and create memories with fans, friends, family, and peers.”

The non-A list festivals ought to consider doing something like this - let someone with a following curate the lineup. Pearl Jam, Wilco, Deftones - they all have their own festivals.

“It will feature a highly curated lineup that maximizes profit for the festival investors and will use Morgan Wallen’s name as a way to sell that it’s something different and authentic but in reality is just a way to make more money.”
I’m sure for people in attendance, they’ll still have a great time but let’s not act like Wallen can throw Korn on the main stage if he wanted to.

Why has this festival changed so much since 2011?
2011 lineup:
Paul Simon, Widespread Panic, Bassnectar, Foo Fighters, My morning jacket, Primus, Motörhead, Cee Lo Green.

...and all of a sudden the stick in the mud local is fine with the festival and all the traffic and people it brings. Complete 180 since its now someone they like playing.
This fest used to be cool man.

Early on it was always a great variety. They would have someone like Zach Brown, Foo's, and RHCP on the main stages and they would always have to boom boom tent for the club kids. As the years went on it all became boom boom and I stopped going. Now another complete shift.

I actually think this will be perfect for that area. That whole area just screams that type of festival.

Can’t be worse than it just being an EDM circle jerk plus a couple washed grunge headliners.

Depends on who he asks and if there is a budget for the whole shebang.
When he played two shows at Neyland in Knoxville last month between the two nights he had Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, and Darius Rucker as surprise guests.
