on his TD vs ole miss literally as soon as he got off the line you could tell the slot CB covering him (all 5'10 of him) was beat off the line. hope to see a lot more of him in the weeks to come!

That play to Green seems unstoppable with man coverage. Just have Green go the opposite way of coverage = guaranteed 6-10 yard completion.
Wonder why we didn't go to that play again?

Absolutely need to use him more. Being huge doesn't really make me think someone will be a great WR, like Stephen Sullivan, kinda average. His speed, dynamic look, height, hands, strength are what does it. Gotta have him on the field.
Imo could be the 2nd best WR on the team behind Lacy.

Imagine being Nuss when he looks up from the fake hand off. He has a huge 6'7" receiver to throw the ball to.
Reminds me of my years playing baseball after fielding a ground ball, quickly looking up, and having a big 1st baseman to throw to.

Having the injuries at WR sucks but watching him take full advantage of the opportunity is awesome to watch.

Yeah watching the replay, you can see the CB wasn't expecting Green to run up on him that quickly, he got inside leverage on the CB far to easily.
Hopefully they get Green involved in the offense, I saw Pimpton running some routes as well, just wasn't targeted by Nuss.

Reposting what I said in the other Trey'Dez thread:
Most DBs are in the 5'-10" to 6'-2" range. TreDez is 6'-7".
This is what it looks like when a 5'-10" athletic corner is trying to guard a 6'-7" athletic WR/TE.
LINK
When you see this you have to ask, why the hell haven't BK, Sloan and Hankton been giving Tre'Dez more playing time?

Freshman are getting playing time but I'm getting the impression that within BK's process that it is not easy for freshman to get a lot of playing time.

Well, I'm actually surprised as many Freshmen have gotten playing time as we have seen thus far this year.
On one hand, it's important to recruits - especially the higher rated ones - to see a willingness to play true Freshmen.
On the other hand, it's usually borne of necessity because of roster deficiencies, so it's not ideal in most cases, save for the rare occurrence where a true freshman is just *that* good.
I think Brian Kelly, for what it's worth, is much more apt to play a true freshman than Miles was.

And height didnt even matter Tre’Dez just beat the guy. Nuss couldve thrown that 2 feet higher and he wouldve caught it

I predict he will be a much better WR than Lacy by the time he leaves LSU.

Mason Taylor has been killing it as TE1, but Green has Jimmy Graham like potential

This is a myth mainly born of the DJ Welter starting over Kendall Beckwith situation. 1) that was the Chief’s call. 2) just because a freshman is more physically talented, doesn’t mean he is the “better” player. Young guys have to learn the system, and have to be trusted to go out there and play within the system. All 11 players have a job to do, and the less talented, older player is “better”’if he’s playing within the system and the coaches know he’s gonna be in the right spot. When coaches trust the younger, more athletically repented guy to do that, then he becomes the “better” player and will begin to see more action. Some positions take longer than others. But both BK and Miles play a ton of true freshmen. They just have to earn their trust.
Now, all things being equal authentically, of course any coach is gonna go with the 21-year-old who’s started a bunch of games over the 18-year-old who hasn’t. At lest they know what to expect when the lights come on.
I do hear BK talking about “preparation” a lot in terms of younger guys having to prove they can consistently prepare in the right way during the week to be trusted to play on Saturdays. Practices matter, and he’s not gonna play guys a lot if they have a good practice on Monday and Tuesday, but lose focus on Wednesday and lay a turd. He wants to see good days stacked on top of each other. He’s not gonna play guys that people say are just “gamers” and play better when the lights come on, but don’t practice well. You’ve got to earn his trust in practice before he feels comfortable enough to throw you in the game.
