Aldi, Wal-Mart, HEB, Kroger, Target, Amazon, Trader Joe's, 711 and others are affected.

It's mostly prepackaged salads, pasta bowls, and frozen dinners (with meat in them). Apparently the meat for all these brands comes from the same supplier. Some brands included:

Fusia (Aldi)
Great Value (Wal-Mart)
Marketside (Wal-Mart)
Good and Gather (Target)
Signature Select (Albertson's)
Kroger (house brand)
Giant Eagle (House brand)
Miejer (house brand)
HEB (house brands)
Trader Joe's (house brand)
Dole
Taylor Farms
Amazon Fresh
El Montery
Michael Angelo's
Whitsons Culinary Group
Fresh Express
Little Salad Bar
Freshly Made

And many others...

Basically if it is prepackaged in the deli isle or frozen foods section, you should check the list.

List is so big, they put it in PDF: LINK

This definitely isn't the result of consolidation in the meat processing industry and importing third world labor to do all the work.

Hell, there is a new recall for something every single day. A few weeks ago it was thousands of pounds of Boar's Head deli meats that had listeria contamination. Several people died from that one.

No deaths from this one yet. This was found from routine screening.

What is bad about this one is that most of what is on that list seems to be stuff that would be eaten right away.

This was caused at BrucePac, a meat place in the county I live in. It's located on the east side of Doorant, Oklahoma.

When there is a big sale on some items there is always a damn recall shortly after... Coincidence maybe but it happens a lot.. I buy those Dole salad kits in the bag.. It seems they are not in the recall but those salad bowls are..
Rouse's carries the Taylor brand of salad..
El Monterey is a good hang over food...

Those ready-made prepackaged salads you see at gas stations just look like they're loaded with bacteria. This is the least surprising development ever.

ETA: I just looked at the pdf & how tf do these salads have 100 ingredients in them? There's five items in the package - does the dressing take dozens of ingredients to make? Gross.

They're recalling meat because of a Def Leppard album?

Interesting. Listeria is typically, but not always, found in drains.
Very deadly to the very young and the very old.
