Tre Harris: why didn't he come to LSU instead of going to Ole Piss?

He's a Louisiana boy that played for La. Tech before he decided to move up. Can someone tell me why he went to Ole Miss instead of LSU?

Can we lay that on Denbrock, on a lack of proper recruiting before we got the band back together, because Joey Freshwater promised him unlimited coeds and a fat wallet?

Given he would have been sandwiched between the Joe B. and Daniels periods, not sure why he wouldn't give us a look.

What gives with this cat going elsewhere?

Maybe because LSU was absolutely stacked at WR last year and he didn’t think he would see the field? Idk, just a guess. Did LSU even offer?

Same reason Keon Coleman, Etienne or others choose not to, some just want to go elsewhere I guess.

Malik Nabers and Brain Thomas Jr. may have had something to do with Tre Harris' decision not coming to LSU when he entered the portal a couple of seasons ago.

He would have been behind a minimum Nabers and Thomas last year. Made a good decision and hope he does well except for tomorrow.

It's what the idiots will always do. Find somebody and pin blame on them. LSU hasn't been hurting for WRs. The kid probably saw a clearer path to the field somewhere else. It's not like Lane isn't known for high powered offenses. Not everything has to be somebody's fault.

Didn't research/read anything on why he chose to play in Oxford but I can give you several guesses:

(a) WRs at LSU 2y ago: Boutte + Nabers + BTJ + others
(b) LSU may not have recruited him hard / hard enough
(c) bag of NIL $$$

He played qb in high school. He played with Nabors before Nabors transferred.

They took zavion Thomas and cj Daniels instead

Could’ve offered him and let Daniels go elsewhere in hindsight

After '22, I don't know if he envisioned LSU throwing the ball as much as we actually did in '23. However, now looking at the stats, we had 480 passing attempts in '22 over 14 games whereas OM had 387 attempts over 13 games. Guess this wasn't a factor after all.

Yep, well said.

He got a lot more opportunities at OM last year than he was gonna get here.

He was lightly recruited out of HS at Comeaux in Lafayette and did play with Malik who only at Comeux and was ruled ineligible to play at Southside bc he followed one of his coaches there but Malik did practuf with the team the whole year. Harris moved to WR while at La Tech. Look at Trey Amos who is from New Iberia and transferred form Bama and is a starting corner for Ole Miss. I follow La HS recruiting g more than 99% on this board and LSU never gave him the time of day

There is so much skill talent in LA there is no way we can sign 'em all. And in the course of things, some we do sign won't live up to expectations and some we don't will go elsewhere and excel.

But we are not running lean on WR talent. Somebody at LSU is doing a great job with WRs.

He was the 96th ranked player out of LA. 2258th ranked player in the country.

He transferred after the 2022 season dumbass
We took zero WR transfers after that year - tried to get Coleman and talked to Harris but neither wanted to be 3rd option
