Menendez brothers case under review for possible resentencing amid new evidence

On Thursday, Gascón mentioned a 1988 letter from Erik Menéndez to a cousin that appears to reference alleged abuse by his father, as well as an abuse allegation made by Roy Rosselló, a former member of boy band Menudo, against José Menéndez, who worked as a record company executive.
Gascón said prosecutors are reviewing those potential pieces of new evidence as they reconsider the convictions.

I’m pretty sure one of the brothers in the trial back in the 90s testified that Mom was also sexually abusing him.

They were both being sexually abused and tortured by their father. Their mother knew and did nothing which almost makes her worse. They weren’t believed at the time because people at that time thought boys couldn’t be sexually abused. Now new evidence has come out because a boy from the band the dad managed claims that he was also sexually abused by him. If you don’t know anything about the case, maybe don’t comment.

I mean, I definitely believe the abuse happened in some form, but that doesn't (by itself) create a valid defense to premeditated murder. They shouldn't have gotten life w/o parole, but I don't see how this new evidence actually changes anything

If the man was abusing and torturing his two teenage sons, what makes you think he wasn't abusing, torturing, and threatening his wife if she were to say anything about what was going on?
