Have we talked about this yet?

Probably not because most people make home cash purchases with $780K of laundered money.

Do these people not even make the most basic effort to cover their tracks when committing a major felony? At a minimum, watch a couple of seasons of The Ozarks and apply a basic amount of laundering to the funds.

You have to be thinking what if someone comes looking at this in the future.

Between this and Teedy in NOLA I am stunned.

LAurie WHite Adams is a joke. After a half term on the metro council she ran for state rep and got skull drug on election day. No problem, she kept her council gig and is now running for re election to to that seat. Yes I know that's common for politicians but it chaps my arse when someone new in office(less than 2 years in her case) decides to run for a higher office that would require her to resign from the first elected office if she had won that election. Thus abandoning the folks who supported her and put her in office. Shows me she cares more about advancing her political career than any of the folks in her district. Don't care if the state rep disctrict covers the same area as the council seat. Finish what you started or at least wait for a 2nd term before you start jumping around. twunt

Yep. Why the hell do Assistant Commissioners of anything need entire offices/staffs? Aren't they part of the Commissioner's office?

I expect this crap at the federal level. Inexcusable at the state level.

Bureaucracy breeds bureaucracy.

This is obviously a reverse sting operation about funds embezzlement and dude had to go through with the house purchase and move in or it would have looked suspicious.

Well, they did wait a few days after depositing the money before going to the bank, then requested a counter check to try to hid the source.

counter check, which is a check obtained at the bank that doesn’t have the company’s name and account information preprinted on it.
