How to contain Mahomes

I feel good about our secondary against their banged up WR group. But I think we'll see alot of Mahomes breaking contain and picking up first downs with his legs. And I HOPE we don't see our guys falling for that stupid pump fake.

DA created the template for containing Mahomes. You play cover two the entire game and contain him in the pocket. He is most dangerous when the play breaks down and he gets outside the pocket.

It will be a close low scoring game because of this. I just don't know if the offense will be able to move the ball much against their defense.
KC will stop the run on early downs & put a lot of pressure on Carr in obvious passing situations. It's going to be an ugly offensive game in general.
To win this game, the defense is going to have to force some turnovers to create short fields & scoring opportunities for the offense.

Mahomes has put up 17-20 points a game for over a season now.
KC is a defense first team. Put up 24 with no dumb TOs and we win.

Our defense can hang with anyone if DD at full health. Much more concerned with scoring against a stout KC defense. Carr will be running for his life

Never rush just three. Gay knows much. Put him in for the entire game and let him cover him as he wishes. Run the ball well. No stupid 9th grade field decisions.

KC is a better defensive team than Philly. The Saints defense gave the offense 2 TOs & special teams provided a blocked punt. One turnover & the blocked punt set up the offense with good field position yet the offense only managed to score 12 points total for the game. Barring defensive and/or special teams scores or a bunch of turnovers by the Chiefs, I don't see anyway this offense in it's current state puts up 24 on the Chiefs.

KC has Kelce & a straight line runner as receiving threats. They are banged up too at receiver. Just need to keep a safety over the top of the straight line runner at all times.

Do not over pursue in the rushing lanes. We did it against Vick Monday night years ago and it worked. Stay vigilant but disciplined.

If everyone is healthy, the Saints can contain Mahomes. The first 3 games the defense did a pretty good job of tackling one on one on the outside. Teams were going outside because the middle wasn’t there. Outside of a couple runs in the Eagles game the defense has done everything to be 4-0. Especially, the Eagles game. How many teams have forced that many turnovers and lost the game? Interceptions, fumbles, turnover on downs and a blocked punt, and the offense couldn’t do anything with it. Hill was out and the offense came to a halt, same thing for the Falcons game.
