If you have an articulate, likeable candidate to present to the American people against the awful record of Biden/Harris this would be a landslide. If you still think that no one but Trump could have beat the dems you are drinking the Koolaid. The majority are looking for that type to sweep these losers out of office.

Trump TDS and half the public hating him is why this is even close which he has brought alot of that on himself. He had a chance to seal the deal during his debate with Harris and he failed by taking the bait. Vance did not fall for that trap. I think he probably impressed alot of moderates.

Except Trump would have destroyed Vance before ever getting to that stage. There is a reason Vance didn't act like Trump tonight. It's even working on you.(other voters will be having the same reaction that you are).

We need Trump because he gave republicans the balls to stand up to the left.

He showed them that you don’t have to fear the MSM. You can own them the way that JD did tonight.

He showed that if you lead the people and stand up for them, they’ll follow.

If policy and debate performance were the most important things, repubs would have a lot more feathers. The candidates actual message is irrelevant. It's what's clipped and posted on social media and what the national media narrative is about a candidate.

We know.

What you fail to realize Trump has brought in a new working class demo into the GOP. He may have lost the neocons but those numbers are small compared to the working class demo. What’s going to be interesting is whether or not GOP candidates after Trump can maintain or grow the working class demo. To be determined.

Sadly this is true. Had Vance been a candidate and started getting traction Trump would have eviscerated him. DeSantis was smart to drop out quickly. Too many people were dead set on Trump come hell or high water.

A single debate is only a small part of it. Don't forget now about everything they've done to Trump.

Exactly and that again proves my point. If Trump can't beat the Biden/Harris record what does that say?

Like those two bums McCain and Romney? Jeb was cut from the same cloth until Trump literally ran him off the damn stage.

We’ve got resident dumbasses here who will only vote for Trump because everyone else is a neo con

Completely unaware of the fact that there are a dozen Republican candidates that could get 330 EV’s, and would implement Donald Trump’s agenda without all the baggage.

Trump is a bad candidate and when the country is in the shape it’s in right now, the incumbent party will SURELY lose. Except… Donald Trump is the challenging candidate.

Replace Trump with W, Mitt, McCain, HW or even Reagan and you have the SAME situation.

Could RDS be strong enough to survive the verbal and literal assaults on Trump? Maybe. I am sure we will find out in '28.

Do you actually think these Marxists are going to lay down because RDS is not DJT?

He will be in the cross hairs and I pray he is prepared.

This.

Dance with the one who brung you. Let's not be quick to forget how Trump totally and completely exposed the uniparty apparatus to get to this point.

This is true. Case in point: Trump’s last debate. Poor debate performance but a lot of good social media clips.

You are extremely naive if you think Trump is the boogeyman and getting rid of him solves all the republicans voter block issues.without Trump the election wouldn't be close.

The numbers would be the same if you had Jesus Christ on the ticket. There's about a 47% portion of the population that cannot think through things so they confuse their emotional feelings about a subject as a position.

I will be happy when Trump is gone. I hope he wins this election, but it is time to make the way for the future of the Republican Party. Vivek, JD, and Ron Desantis are all better candidates and will lead the country forward.

McCain and Romney are/were assholes. Plus they were not running against a record/disaster such as Biden/Harris.

Going up against that disaster, why isn't this a landslide?

Put down the pipe. Better yet, name those dozen. I can’t wait to read your list.

I understand your point but one of the appealing things about Trump is that he’s himself. He exudes strength and masculinity. People are attracted to that.

Yes Trump has a low ceiling but he also has a high floor because he drives all of the base to turn out at record numbers.

I also wonder in the divided world we live in, what is anyone’s ceiling? I don’t see any scenario nowadays where one candidate wins on a 60-40 margin or larger. I mean Biden is a dead body up there and yet the whole democrat party still voted for him. Trump was on track to win by a 54-46ish margin at best against Biden. How could 46% vote for a dementia patient? but 40-45% will just vote party lines no matter what so you might as well stick with Trump and ensure your base turns out.
