Buck or pig hunt
Jarreau, LA
67 degrees, clear skies with 2 mph north wind
Mankung xbow with 100 gr swackers

New spot this season, select cut hardwood bottomland. No scouting, just hung climber yesterday afternoon and interested to see what’s around. Good luck to all hunting today.

In my saddle in the area I finished off last season. Some oaks on the edge of a slough. Thermacell rolling but it’s not enough. I should’ve brought 2

I treat all of my bow hunting and turkey gear with Sawyers Permethrin spray. It is odorless and works better than 3 thermacells.

Thanks for this. Picking up some at TSC after this hunt .

St. Tammany. Warm.
Nothing notable on camera lately. A doe will get an arrow today.

Just had 2 does and a spotted fawn come through. Thought about shooting the bigger doe. She was 18 yards broadside. Just couldn’t tell which doe was the mom so I let her walk. Good karma hopefully.

I was in there hog hunting a week or so ago and couldn't stop moving even with a thermacell and permethrin. Good luck.

I was hoping I'd wake up sick so I could skip work and hunt. Didn't happen. I'll be squirrel hunting/scouting this weekend. Where I hunt in south MS I usually wait until the second or third week of season to make some sits.

Good call. Never know in the early season if a doe has a future giant buck laid up somewhere waiting for her to get back.

Permethrin spray.

I have a bottle at the house I’ve never used. I’ll spray my clothes with it today so they’ll be good by the weekend. I’m willing to try anything to keep these mosquitos away!

I was going to go whack a doe before work but pussed out due to the mosquitos. There have been as many as 9 on camera since daylight. There are currently 5. I'm getting soft...

I haven’t experienced mosquitoes this bad in years. They’ve settled a bit for the last 30 minutes or so, but the first hour was brutal. I thought my leafy suit would give me some protection but they still found ways to get me.

I’m headed out tomorrow to amite area. During turkey season, mosquitoes were bad. But kept them at bay with a thermacell, bug spray, and the swayer spray. Hope this works for tomorrow

I’m about 20 yards off a stagnant slough, so they’re horrible here. I’m in the damn mosquito breeding grounds lol

Not much. I have a couple of nice younger bucks. Probably 3.5. One is a nice 8pt and the other is a really cool looking 11pt. Would shoot either.

I got a new puppy last year so I’m looking forward to duck season. Couple that with killing that old deer last year and I’m not quite as angry at the deer this year .

Watching the clock counting down until 2:00 PM and then I'll be headed home to Wilkinson County WFO. Nothing overly impressive on camera but I've got a few freezer queens that have been making steady appearances about 200 yds behind my house where my lock on is so I'll be there with the Matthews creed by 4:00
