We certainly need more players like him. He is making or close to making darn near every running play. Too bad HP can't see what Whit sees.

Coaches tried to fit a square peg in a round hole instead of playing to Perk's strengths.

They tried doing different things with him several times. The truth is, he just wasn’t producing

I think Perk did see it, it’s just that Perk didn’t want to do anything about it while Weeks gets in there and lays the hammer on them dudes. Perk was definitely suspect about wanting to make contact.

I keep seeing this said but they literally tried Perkins EVERYWHERE so I just don’t get it.

When he covered the RB on a 40yard pass incompletion, completely won me over. Excellent hustle and he stayed in and gave 100% effort on the very next play and every other play.

Perkins was always standing around diagnosing. Weeks just makes a read and takes off.

They could have modified the star position to him and he would have done well. They started to just before he to hurt.

Yeah they should have changed their entire defense just to give HP another chance to make an impact

Perkins had 1 strength and once opposing teams figured it out, he was not productive.

He is not a linebacker.

Where did I say change their entire defense. They created their version of the star this season. They actually let him play some star the last game when he got hurt. So maybe they realized it was a better fit.

Perkins only real strength is his speed. Let me point out his weaknesses now. 1) he is NOT a great tackler 2) he is a tweener which means not strong enough to play LBer and not good enough in pass coverage to drop back all the time. The bottom line is Perkins never became stronger and teams now know if he ever rushes the passer just make sure any blocker can meet him. To blame multiple DCs for NOT making him a better player is ludicrous. Most football knowledgeable people know he has been overrated big time and will be drafted 3rd day in the draft.

That can’t be. I was told by the fan boys on here that there was no way he would have a sophomore slump. And there's no way that it would last into another year. Some dumb asses on here.

You are blaming the coaches while the player was taking plays off and missing tacklers

The kid never lacked effort. You can praise Weeks without shitting on Perkins

I have. I’ve watched replays where Perkins takes himself out of the play to avoid contact.

Go watch the replay of that 50+ yd TD run right up the middle by the Nicholls RB at the start of second half and you’ll see what I mean. He literally ran over to the left side into a block and left a wide open hole for that RB to run through.
