I appreciate you guys playing South tomorrow. I'm obviously a Bama fan but I live in Mobile and also follow the Jags. They can use the payday and the exposure they'll get for playing you guys. I've always wanted Alabama to play South but I've given up on that. I even had the opportunity to ask our AD about it and he said they "have no plans" to play.

I've watched many great baseball games between South and LSU over the years, especially back in the day when Eddie Stanky and then Steve Kitrell coached the Jags. It's always an honor playing LSU in baseball.

Anyway, looking for a good game, good luck, and thanks again.

Upvote even though it’s obviously a trap of some kind.

It really is a shame the way Bama treats all the in-state schools

100% a trap. Are you saying this from inside an ice cream truck?

It's weird that other than each other, Alabama and Auburn don't play the in state FBS programs (UAB, Troy, USA). The only matchup that's ever been played among them was UAB/Auburn 28 years ago in UABs first game as a program.

I'll bet they put up a good fight in the first half. Their offense can put some points up. Will be a fun game to watch!

Didn't Bama play an HBCU (Ala. State or Ala. A&M) years ago? Or maybe i'm just misremembering.

This is so dumb. You have quality opponents right in your backyard and you send the money out of state instead of helping out instate programs.

Don’t agree with this logic.

They're so insecure they think if they help to build up any in-state programs they're going to lose their dominance

I believe Ole Miss does the exact same thing. They haven’t played USM in 30+ years. Gotta give Ms State props as they do the same thing as LSU…never understood the logic behind Bama, Auburn, and Ole Miss doing this..

USA admin doesn't like calling them "South" but most older folks (like me) still do.

To be fair, LSU had this mindset until CNS lost to UAB.
