Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a shaded side to the stadium for an 11:00 am kick? Looking at pics online, it looks like they whole stadium is in the sun but the pics could be edited. Anyone have any insight?

The stadiun runs north to south. The west side will get shade first

I was at Ohio Stadium for a noon game. We have an upper deck that shaded the east stands with the southern portion of the stands being shaded longer because the sun is not directly overhead, it is offset due to the time of year.
Not sure the overhang situation at Gilman, how latitude would affect the offset, etc.

It will be hot. Not as hot as a 230 kick, but still hot.

Whole stadium is in the sun. You might get some afternoon shade if you sit right up on the pressbox on the visitors side.

I thought the north and south differential was interesting

Visitors side.
Tulane puts themselves in the sun. So much for us being the smart ones.

NIMBYs wouldn't let them put a second level on the western side.

The sun will be in your eyes/face if you sit on the home sidelines

Told a coworker that is going to the game that he should try to get seats as far under the overhang as possible since I knew he was going and was going to be sitting on the home side....he told me how stupid I was for getting the seats I'm getting as he is 'right on the 40 yard line'...him and his wife are probably going to die from dehydration.

The main issue is sunscreen. You can always buy drinks to cool yourself off. Just wear sunscreen.

Just drink three or four frozen superior margaritas and you will be fine!

That's why I say both will be very dehydrated....he doesn't do well in the heat and both drink a shite ton of alcohol and probably won't be sober enough to think about drinking water.

It will be hot everywhere in the stadium unless you are in the AC in a suite.
The good news is the kickoff is at 11 and not 2:30
Hopefully its over quickly for those who go
