How many players are still alive from that Dolphins perfect season? Soon there will be no one left to pop champagne.

Met him in the early 90s at a football camp at UNO and got his autograph
Very saddened to hear this

The 70s Dolphins were my heros as a young teen. Sad to see my heros passing on

That's a good question. Their interviews during the Patriots undefeated run to the Super Bowl were great, but the interviews after were even better

New England actually beat their record, technically. Dolphins went 17-0.

Pats went 18-0., then lost.

He died because he couldn’t bear to watch the Saints go 20-0

Quit adjusting your eyeglasses and overthinking it nerd.

Dolphins have the only undefeated season with a Super Bowl win. Morris passed knowing that was intact. Good for him.

I found an article from 2022 commemorating the 50th anniversary of that team. At the time, 28 were still living.

Miami Herald

Some highlights:
26. Lloyd Mumphord, defensive back: Mumphord, who turns 76 on Dec. 20, is retired and living in Lafayette, La. Highlight: He had four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, in 14 games, all off the bench, in ‘72.

60. Al Jenkins, guard: Jenkins, 76, is retired and living in New Orleans. Highlight: Appeared in 14 games, and started none, as a backup interior lineman.

Poor Patriots. Pats went 18-0 and then lost by 3 points to a 6-loss team they had already beaten during the season. Nothing to show for that season

Approximately 4 inches away from the most impressive hail Mary of all time. Randy Moss was insane.

Yes he was. Csonka was the thunder and Morris was the lightning. The Dolphins dominated the purple people eaters
Of the Vikings in SB 8 that griese only threw 7 passes the whole game.
